There are only a few luxury full-size AWD high-performance sedans out there now, and the Panamera will fit in nicely.

The Audi S8, MB S550 4matic, and Bentley Flying Spur are nice, but they aren't a Porsche. Don't get me wrong, Mercedes and Bentley build incredible cars. Very stiff competition for the Porsche, but the Panamera will be the only true sport sedan. The Panamera will be everything we love about our Porsche's, but with more room!

What's the point of the Panamera? What's Porsche trying to prove? They have the Cayenne, they have one of the best sport car: 911. What's this all about?

I think the only true sport sedan is the M5.

Entirely true, but the manual transmission model is neutered compared to the 7-speed SMG.

Not entirely true:
Quattroporte
RS6
E55

(while I hate Motor Trend it was the first article in Google: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...e55/index.html)

Eh, none of the M5's "competitors" really tickle my fancy. The E39 M5 was the first performance sedan I ever drove, so I am a bit biased...

Aside from the looks (never did like the look of the E60), just love the way it feels and the screaming V10.

well the cayenne is Porsche's highest volume selling car. So I might assume this might be another top seller as well.
