My uncle who lives in the states, ordered a Gaurds Red panamera. I am really looking forward to those pictures.

BTW carbon grey is an excellent choice. I would team it up with 20" 911 Turbo 5 spokes and black interior loaded with carbon fibre and red or white stitching.

I saw the car in person yesterday here in New Delhi and am really impressed. Much better in person and heavenly interiors. Now only if it costed 140K and not 280k back here in india!

Could you stop polluting the Panamera threads? The thread starter obviously doesn't share your extreme focus on appearance. He already ordered one. Will your mentality, spelling and wit cause him to change his mind? I think not.

I saw the car for the first time today and drove it today also. Bash all you like, this car is going to sell. And sell well. It's a whole new category, it's got fantastic performance, and many people who don't already like it are going to warm up to the looks. As I've said on another thread, it's a great manufacturer that can build a car that people have such strong emotions toward, both positive and negative. It means they built something unique and special. I guarantee this is going to give lots of other cars a run for their money!

Not polluting it. I am entitled to my opinion, thats what these forums are for. By the way if you read through the posts they are several others that agree with me.

Actually you are correct this is a forum for opinion. But no body asked you for the opinion you stated.

If I would of started a thread that said "Should I buy the Panamera" your reply would of been great! I didnt so therefore you are border line breaking forum rules and as the other poster said you are polluting this thread/forum by doing so. Yes others did so as well but to be honest many will be thinking twice when they see the car. Its funny they have only seen pics and can judge a car immediatly.... maybe some of you should work for Porsche marketing!

Hey Globalm3,

congrats on incoming Panamera!

don't worry about the bashing posts, they are as useful as garbage...

I saw it last week at dealer and like it. 2 things I don't like is the relatively small trunk space and steep price tag.

May wait for the V6 version and get one for my wife.

Happy Motoring.

The problem is not sharing his opinion... The problem is him thinking everyone needs to embrace his opinion which is pretty overbearing and obnoxious. In fact, after reading the post above about how several people actually agree with him, I had to think twice about my upcoming purchase. Not...

I think the car is great also and intend on purchasing one maybe as early as this weekend. It will be a great seller for them. They've done their homework. Of the 10-Porsches I've had I'm probably most excited about this one. I will actually get to drive this one, with family and all, most of time, rather than it just being a third set of wheels.

Congrats on the purchase! I'm sure you'll love it...

I'm also quite excited about purchasing a Panamera. It's a car that seems literally made for my driving requirements and I like the looks of it just fine.

I've ordered a Turbo with lots of performance options and I can hardly wait for the mid-winter delivery.

Yes, I spiritedly drove a normally aspirated Panamera at the Quail event in August. My wife and I were both very impressed and all the trusted reports I get from others about the Turbo convinced me to buy one without reservation.

Have you read any of the posts by Porsche dealer personnel who are attending the track introductions in Phoenix? Have a look around the boards to see how the Panamera Turbo stacks up against the usual suspects from the competition. Essentially, there is no competition.

That's great Mike. I'm driving all of them this weekend. I'm already sure I'll love it. I'm also sure after having all turbos in my past, some quite modified, that I won't be happy unless I have the turbo.

Anyone heard the Burmeister stereo as of yet? I'm in the music recording business and I'm very curious on how they did with those ribbon drivers. I don't think any of the cars I'm driving have the option. Funny thing, this is why I still have my 8-year old LS430 with 100K+ miles. The Levinson stereo is outstanding, very flat for referencing mixes, which is essential as a mix engineer/producer.

Ted,

I, too, think that Lexus' Mark Levinson audio systems are the best I've ever owned and the Bose (and other) systems in my German rides haven't ever measured up.

I had a short classical music listening session in a Burmester-equipped Panamera Turbo sitting on the display green at the Quail gathering. Claudia Boensch, the Panamera project manager, demo-ed the system for my wife and I using a CD selected for the purpose. My wife usually never comments on stereo systems in cars, but she was moved to say approving things about it after listening from the back seat. I, too, was very impressed to the point of ordering it for our Turbo.

Most in-car audio systems I have owned have trouble giving realistic definition to vocals, especially female performers. There always seems to be trouble in the 1000-2500 Hz range with muddy confusion. The Mark Levinson systems in various Lexus SUVs I have owned were just brilliant. The presence, balance, coherence, and definition were all very good at a variety of listening levels. Other systems come in a distant second as a group, and can only be made to sound good at a particular sound level, usually pretty loud.

The Burmester seemed as good as those Levinson systems, but I didn't have enough time with it to make a definitive judgment about whether it is actually better. It was so much better than the Bose systems in any 911 Turbos I have owned or the system in my GL450, that it was easy to make the decision to order it for the Panamera.
