Picking up PTT tomorrow

Test drove a S about 2 weeks ago with PDCC and Sport Chrono, loved the drive and the sound of the exhaust (had sport exhaust). Today, test drove a Turbo with no Sport Chrono or PDCC. The car is very misleading"ly" FAST but does not feel very rewarding. My wife's Quatroporte S feels more rewarding and involved. I'm guessing it's because the exhaust and engine note the QP puts out while the PTT's exhaust is sorta sedated. Same issue I had on my 997TT, even with the Tubi.

The car is Carbon Gray with Turbo 2 wheels and Sport Chrono. The interior is Carbon Fiber. The one time I DON'T want CF, the car has it. I'm still getting the car because I decided I can "live" with it. No PDCC, PCCB, Burmester...has just about everything else that I want functional. The physical appearance I think is very subjective, although I think the car looks pretty good and my wife actually likes the looks of the exterior over her QP but thinks her QP has prettier interior...I think she and I are opposite on both notes.

Question for you Turbo owners...do you feel the car is very rewarding to drive? Not trying to compare this to my 997TT as I realize that these are 2 different animals, but do feel like "wow, I can't wait to drive it again" everytime you step out of it?

Nice car! congratulations. Most people I talk to think the interior is better than a maserati or bentley

rewarding? interesting term. Since you loved the 4S and the exhaust it sounds like you are referring to an aural reward.

The turbo certainly rewards with monster power, gobs of torque, and head tossing acceleration. It is fast. Does it sound loud? no. I would argue that any turbo car will sound subdued next to a non-turbo car. The good news is that if you decide to remove your cats the car wont be so loud that you are afraid to start it in the morning.

I would recommend driving in at least sport mode most of the time. The second gear starts annoy me.

falb - i thought 2nd gear was a lot of fun in the turbo - it covered a lot of real estate with that one gear so less hunting?

I guess it is a personal preference. To me it feels like you are slipping the clutch for the first 20 feet and it doesnt jump off the line - at all - in second gear. yes, first is very short but I prefer to use it. I would also add, that there is no need to shift into first unless you come to a complete stop.

Did not pick up car yet...stunned by dealer. Tell me "5K off but much better deal if you come in..." Show up at dealer and 4K. It's not so much the money since we're only talking 1K or so on a 155K car, but didn't expect this EVER from any dealer.

Picking up Ferrari California instead for wife and just drive her Maser.

Of course I am. I'm not buying a Honda or Toyota. It's a $155K car, you'd think there's a wee bit more integrity for deaalers that sell this level vehicle.

Just brought her home, it's too dark to take pics.
I have plans for a Techart front and rear spoiler. I do want to change exahust to either Porsche Sport Exhaust or an aftermarket one to give it some more sound. Will be doing the plenum and hopefully ECU tuning. Not ready for Turbo upgrades yet, want to wait and see how they do first, hopefully a member will do it first and provide feedback before I jump in.
