Battery Maintainer

Anyone use a battery maintainer on a Panamera? Since the battery is under the passenger seat, it's not directly accessible like a 911. Would you connect to the jumper terminals in the engine compartment, or use the lighter plug? I would rather use my Deltran Battery Tender than buy the Porsche lighter charger, but not sure if connecting to the jumper terminals could affect the system electronics.

Using the Deltran on the jumper terminals should be fine. No need to get the Porsche tender, even though it does make things a lot more convenient. FYI I had this information confirmed by a Porsche Tech.

Technical manual specifically notes that charger or jumper leads should only be connected directly in the engine compartment. If connected to the battery, the battery sensor may be damaged, and incorrect information is sent to the gateway.

I have used the dual mode Porsche charger several times on the Panny and it works fine.
