new Panamera 4

You must be getting old, that was the comment given to me by my daughter last night when I got home and confessed to her I went and drove and am seriously considering ordering a Panemera 4... In my defense I have been a car Nutt for years and enjoy most makes of cars... in my personal stables I have had from Dodge Turbo's (Shadow CSX's (2) first to break a 13 sec 1/4 back in 89), Ford SHO's, 1 of each generation through out the years, prior to the last release fun rides that didn't kill my budget or make me appear pompous nor arrogant... I have also had 745 sport (leased), an EVO VIII, GTI's... the others I wont count since they were not bought new and excuse the expression, I didnt fart in the seat first.... well I will mention the acquired used beast that is still around the 86 911, I didn't get it new but she does have 700+ bhp... Not a daily driver for me nor a foul weather car either, only out in during summer months, on a Saturday or Sunday driven between 4am-7am and then back inside in friends garage....

Well back to my Experience with The Panny 4, I took it out yesterday, It was not my first exposure to the Panamera because i drove the Turbo, (bit over the top), loved the 4S, but have not committed, because i keep specing it out too close to turbo money... I think i have found my blend of perfect balance... Performance Dollar Value.... Driving the car it drove quite similar to its higher priced stablemates, in all aspects except full throttle acceleration (it feels more than 300), the grip was there it felt better poised, balanced especially driving in the wet ( I was so happy it started to rain so i could test the grip) and coming round the bends, I really enjoyed the cars predictability... now for the looks I prefer the black trim around the windows, no twin tip pipes (ez fix), and on the interior I am missing a few buttons with options such as the air suspension, and looking at a vinyl/leatherette dash hum it is well its entry level... call it simple lesser transport with basic punch when needed and style the non Porsche folks are not looking at the color of my calipers or the side grille color all they see is the gold badge with the bucking stallion and turning green,... Its like how I feel about my Current Cayenne which i bought new and one of the cars that will keep till ... If i do order the Panamera 4 I may have to opt for the 20" RS Spyder wheels, Air Suspension, Sports Chrono & full leather, vent seats, crests, prob back at 95K with those six boxes checked.... well maybe i can live without the wheels...

Living in NYC, and it being a daily driver for the misses its the perfect Porsche for the four of us (two near adult Teens well in size they are...) I will keep you posted I have to try the new Cayenne S first before I write the check for the Pan 4 and keep the family away from the 4S or the turbo... before they start with it feels sluggish ( wife's words for her daily driven Cayenne S )...

glad you like it.

my wife's Pan4 will arrive in 1-2 weeks.

ordering the Pan4 has nothing to do with age, as one don't need too many fast cars in his/her garage.

Thanks Tim... I thought I would of gotten fried by the masses here... ever since I had the widow maker 86 911 (with true pep 700+ ) at the wheel most things did feel kinda slow... the lead foot misses I sold her 2006 Cayenne Turbo S ( bought as 0 optioned left over in late 2007), I had too after I drove with her a few times... it was lethal fast attracted too much attention and the insurance was 1.5 the Cayenne S already in the stable... funny thing was I paid nearly the same out the door brand new for both ...

On a side note I was contacted by the dealer with the location of one Panamera 4 with full leather, I'm really looking forward to trying the new Cayenne before I cut the check... Anybody else drive the V6 Panamera and what did you think?
