What do you think?
I test drove a new 2010 turbo yesterday and I almost bought it right then and there.
WOW, what a car, but you guys already knew that, didn't you? I had to do a little reasearch first before making such an emotional, expensive purchase and I found this site.. lucky me!! I have been reading posts on this site, gathering info and it seems all you guys love this car and I can't blame you, it's awesome.
Well, it stickers for 157,000 and they will let me have it for 140,305 plus tax and fees with 1.9 % financing,, 17,000 off,,, not to bad, do you think?
Only thing it doesn't have is the burmester audio, which I want but its not a must have. It does have the carbon fiber with the red gauges and the red seat belts with black interior and black exterior. This I love and can't seem to find another one like it. Well, do you guys think this is a good price and what kind of depreciation should I expect from this car. Will this thing only be worth 70,000 in 2 years?
I have not bought a car this expensive before and it is not like I NEED IT, I just want it and can afford it. Thanks for your time guys.

Options?
What options are on it. Please only the major ones.
I driven both the Bose and Burmester. While the Burmester is better, it is not substantial unless music is a critically important part of your car ownership experience. An audiophile would most definitely want the Burmester, but the 'average' Porsche sport driver would likely find thew Bose AOK.
Cheers, JohnnyB

I have the Bose and have never heard the Burmeister and I want for nothing in the audio arena of my car. I must be "average". Spend the money on the Turbo II rims or something. Although I do mostly play sports radio and children's songs.....
Test them back to back at a dealer that has both Bose and Burm. I'm not sure what I have to do or have to be considered an audiophile, but I believe it's night and day. Although I'm on the fence about a PTT or CTT, I'm not at all on the fence about a $4k option on a $125k or $160k p-car - Burm fo sho.
Sensitivity to Average
Perhaps I should explain what I meant by 'average' Porsche driver:
Most Porsche drivers are not audiophiles who devote time towards the hobby of music. They enjoy music but do not place as high a priority to the music playback system as to the performance aspects of the car.
For those who value the superior quality of music that the Burmeister entails, and want to part with another $4K, and I am one of them, that is terrific.
For those who listen occasionally for pleasure and are not as attuned to the sonics in their car, the Bose certainly is a fine system.
Cheers, JohnnyB

That sounds like a good deal on that PTT. The Burmeister was a deal breaker for me. Nevertheless, I was looking for an S, of which there were more available. I found one with the three things I absolutely wanted (Burm, ventilated seats, and sport chrono). The back up camera is imperative, IMO. However, that is easily installed after market and integrates well. I have driven a loaner Pan quite a bit with a Bose. I must admit, the Bose system sounds quite good. If it has the other goodies you want, I would say go for it. Especially with that deal. Sacrifices may need to be made to get a good deal. Naturally, you can order one with everything you want and pay MSRP.
What do you think about the depreciation ? Do you think it will hold its value or tank ? I also drove an x6m last night, it was quick but not as impressive as the Panamera turbo. It also was 45k cheaper!!

Actually, of all the PanAmera models I like the V6 best. It seems like an okay car for the money. I don't really understand the "fast sedan" idea. Whether the CTS-V or the PanAmera is the world's fastest is irrelevant to me personally because any number of 4-seat coupes and 2-seat coupes are much faster. I understand some people need a sedan and can afford only one car -- but when I need four doors I'm doing something that does not need, or even permit, four-second runs to 60 and 1 G cornering.
I like the Panamera interior quite a bit and it drive nicely, and the V6 is quite fast enough for any sedan duty I need. But overall, any car I buy has to be attractive - not gorgeous, but not . . . ah . . . let's call it "oddly shaped" - - like the PanAmera.
I was looking at a Turbo at my dealers, next to a new Aston Rapide. No doubt that the Turbo is the much faster car, but also n o doubt only the Aston would ever be in my garag. Why Porsche had to make their sedan look like a pregnant 911, I have no idea -- the Rapide is gorgeous. I'd easily pay $30K more than for the Panamera V6 for a V6 (fast enough for me) version of it, but that's probably not to be.

The backseat of the Rapide is completely useless. I drove one a few weeks ago and it is not really useful in any way as a 4 door. There is no way to accomodate and adult or car seats back there.
You might want to follow this Thread regarding price, if you haven't already.

i feel like buying the turbo now is gonna lead to you loosing a lot of money. The next generation 911 is going to hit the market soon and soon after that the new 911 turbo will too. Will you be content driving the last generation 911 when those new turbos are hitting the roads?
Since OP is thinking about depreciation and considering X6, I suggest looking into a Cayenne Turbo as well. Cayenne will hold its value better than Panamera, Americans love SUV. Look at all the S class and 7 series, while I think the Panamera will fare better but it's still going to be ugly. Keep in mind most of the options are not worth much when resale time comes, so is it going to be worth $70k in 2 years? Probably more but not a whole lot more, I say $80-90k would be a safe bet. Lastly, using Cayenne as an example, I think the lower models (V6 and S) will hold its value much better.
Wow, really? Yesterday I went to a dealer to look at the V6 Panamera again (just can't get past the exterior styling) and the Maserati Quotroporte (nice), but ended up looking at a slightly used Rapide (hard to believe there is already one on the used lot, but this had 2K miles). I sat in the backseat (after adjusting the front to my likes) and it was very comfortable and had a lot of room. The Rapide is the only interior I have seen that out-Maseratis Maserati on the sumptuous glove leather front. Probably not as practical as the Panamaera's interior, but gorgeous. Still, even used it was $200K and I just don't have that much cash right now. Gonna keep the Lincoln for now, maybe look at a Fisker Karma in a year or so, or if something else catches my eye . . .
