having entire vehicle wrapped
I don't understand wrapping the entire car. Doesn't that stuff eventually peel, crack and/or become yellowish?
I can see doing the bumper and maybe the hood. Waxing the car regularly provides all the protection your paint needs. My car is 4 years old and still looks new. Every car I've had has been the same. I wax ever other month. I protects very well.

It's my DD and it's black. I've had my last 4 vehicles wrapped: front bumper, side mirrors and A-piller. Decided to go the extra mile since this is my 1st black car in 5 years and Pittsburgh winters are terrible. To much salt and snow.
The installer left a note with the paperwork detailing the fact that:
1) the remaining bubbles would go away after 48hrs...they did
2) the 3m film has a max width of 48 inch's that's why he was unable to cover the hold 100%. (This is the widest car in North America) but stated that he would put a wedge piece to make it completely covered if I wanted. But the seam is less detectable if left as is.
3) didn't wrap the roof because he saw a scratch in the paint and thought that I might want to send the car back to detail and see if they could buff it out. Upon my return in 3 weeks to have the new front bumper wrapped he would complete the roof.
4) Service manager didn't tell him to take the PORSCHE emblem off. Service manager was such a coward he stayed in his office when I showed up.
I had it washed and applied some Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax and the seams did become less apparent. My detail guy is going to apply 2 coats of SwissVax when the car is complete in a few weeks and I will post pics.

My 911 has a "wedge" piece for the hood and it looks like hell! Tell him to get a different brand film, which does exist, and re-do the entire hood.
On a black car it will show as a white line. On my white car, it shows as a black line. If you are like me and it sounds like you are, it will drive you crazy!!

It is always best to use VentureShield because max width is actually 60inches instead of only 48 which is ridiculous, on top of that their film is a better quality virtually no orange peal and does not yellow unfortunately 3M does yellow over a extended period of time. I own a body shop here in CA and after doing countless number of wraps Venture Shield is definitely the way to go, but never the less good luck. As for the person who wrapped it he should have pulled off the emblems himself that's where the quality of the install comes in, when we do the installs here at my shop the belt moldings along with headlights, taillights, mirrors, handles all get taken off then put back just to be able to tuck all the film under the trim and to not cut on the cars panels themselves because you end up with razor slits in the paint. He is definitely a rookie or just plain stupid.
I take back what I said earlier about the wraps. I just saw this thread about the Premier clear satin wrap on a 911 TT. This looks amazing.

I only have half my hood done right now becasue of the width issue witht he film he was using. He did say there was a different manufacturer that had a wider film but it was not as clear as what he put on. He did say they were going to be releasing a wider film roll here soon and he will only charge me the difference in cost from the part/full hood.
