maxxsrt8 is infamous around these parts
Hi there
i'm just about to order a set of 22 inch hre 940r wheels similar to the ones you have fitted on your Pan. as my Pan. is due to arrive in september 2011... the thing is i had some questions regarding the wheels and i was hoping that you can kindly answer them and help me out ...
1) do the 22 inch wheels rub when you turn the steering wheel? or any kind of rubbing ?
2) how was the ride comfort affected after fixing the 22's ?
3) what is the offset of your wheels? and lip size?
4)were you able to use the TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) with those wheels? being 22"s...
5)what kind of tires are you using?
i would really appreciate your help as i'm planning to place the order soon and i'm hesitating as i have those questions on my mind.
Thank you

No rubbing at all
2) how was the ride comfort affected after fixing the 22's ?
Little stiffer than the 18s but well worth it
3) what is the offset of your wheels? and lip size?
Cant remember but will find out
4)were you able to use the TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) with those wheels? being 22"s...
Yes ... Using the stock TPMS
5)what kind of tires are you using?
22 x 9.5″ with Pirelli PZero 265/30R22
22 x 11.5″ with Pirelli PZero 315/25R22

i would really appreciate your help as i'm planning to place the order soon and i'm hesitating as i have those questions on my mind.
Thank you
I hope this helps

another question,
I am on the fence on which wheels to get and the finish. what is the finish on your wheels ???
I do like the brushed centers with chrome lips but not sure if that is in style today

not sure on size, 21 or 22's

wheel manufactures I am considering:
HRE, ADV1, COR, Modulare

how did you end up choosing becuase there are so many to choose from.

by the way, your car looks amazing !!!

Rob,

I went with the brushed clearcoat centers with a polished lip (not chrome). I looked at a lot of wheels but just kept coming back to the 940Rs. HRE has a great QC and product ... for example, my rims were about 2 weeks late due to 1 lip not meeting their QC inspection so they had to remake another lip. I had no problem waiting and appreciate their high QC checks. Are they pricey ... yes, but I can always move them to our next Porsche ... which will probably be another Panni someday.
