nice write-up. I assumed the Equus was copying an LS and I am glad your wife loves it! I am trying to have one car and for now, it's working with the X5, but I miss the Porsche!!!! So, I have 2 years to dream and contemplate the next vehicle. I think the Pan would be perfect, but then I am going to want the turbo! So, keep the reviews and comments coming! then, when I go to order one, you can help with the options!

frustration

So today I had a "meeting" with my local dealer to see if they wanted to sell a highly optioned panni from their show floor. I guess not. They could not find their way to more than 4% off. Hmm. Bummer have to just locate what I am looking for and do it myself. In the end we were $3k apart on a 90k msrp car. I probably would have split the difference but they seemed think I was getting a great deal. I thought not. Onward....

It sounds as if they just don't want to sell a car, or have another potential buyer that they think is in the bag.

This can be laborious, but you can always go to porschedealer.com and search through the inventories to find potential cars. I've also used Google Advanced Search to find specific items/options/models from Porschedealer.com sites.

http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en&authuser=0

For instance:
looking for Basalt Panamera on PorscheDealer.com
w/ Adaptive seats
w/o PCCB
w/o Navigation
NOT a Turbo

The Google search term would be:
porschedealer.com panamera basalt adaptive -turbo -pccb -navigation

It might add a little pain to the purchase/delivery process but you might also be surprised. If anything it's interesting to see what's out there.

*.porschedealer.com 2011 Panamera Basalt black (paste that into google)
or change the date to 2010...i think all dealers are taking 20k or more off 2010

that black though does always look dusty.

Barrier Porsche

Its all subjective. I have an S with the upgraded seats, 20" Turbo II Wheels, Bose, full leather and a nice group of options. I don't have the Chrono, and Entry/Drive on mine, although I think that keyless entry should be standard for a car in this class.

For my taste the full leather interior is a must, as it takes the car into rich luxury territory and looks much better than the pebble grain standard trim on dash and doors, etc. My window was $105,585, but I got $10k off on the manager's demo with under 800 miles on the odometer.

I am an audiophile, and find the Bose pretty good and punchy for rock and jazz. The Burmeister is fantastic, but it is costly, and you won't find it on many cars in dealer stock, except Turbos....
