Panamera turbo peak boost and onwers manual
Hi
Have been thinking of changing from the 997.1 TT to the Panamera TT. I have a few questions and would appreciate the help:
-What is the peak boost of the turbos in the Panamera TT? 0.9 bar?
-Does it increase with the sport chrono by 0.2 bar like in the 997.1 tt?
-Does the performance pack increase the boost even more?
-Does anyone have a pdf version of the Panamera turbo owners manual. I usually check whats in the car from the owners manual in advance.
Thanks for the newbie help in advance!

Here is a link for the owners manual.

Is my question about the turbo boost too simple? I have found no search about the topic at all.
It seems the normal boost is 0.8 bar.
Motor trend says the overboost is 0.9 bar and + 70nm.

I would appreciate someone answering...

Posted an update now that I got my car.
Auto zeitung says overboost raises boost from 0.85 to 1.2 bar, this cant be right, can it?
I am seeing values of max 0.8 bar with the powerkit. Anyone know how much it should be? I have been looking for the overboost arrow like in the 997tt, but am not sure I am in overboost, how do you see it. What boost are you other owners getting?
Havent had time to try this, just twice after I completed the run in...

So I 'll answer my own question again:
About the turbo S:
http://business.inquirer.net/11769/p...o-s-and-diesel
The 4.8 liter 4-cam direct injection V8 engine is similar to the regular Turbo, but utilizes a new Titanium/Aluminum Compressor Wheel and shaft developed by Porsche and supplied by Mitsubishi Turbo. The new compressor wheel weighs 50 grams less but offers much-improved flow dynamics, allowing the turbochargers to flow more air at lower wheel RPM and to spool-up and hit the target 1 bar of boost in half the time as the regular turbochargers. In doing so, the Panamera Turbo S uses the same amount of fuel as the Panamera Turbo but achieves an increase of 50 horsepower and 50 Newton-meters of torque in Sport Plus over-boost mode, the net output being 550 hp and 800 Newton-Meters of torque.

Just to add, I am seeing 1.0 bar max (although for only short periods of time) in my car with powerkit, so I think the info posted is correct.

An update: In this video the boost gauge can be seen well. This Turbo S blinks a 1.1 bar boost at 150km/h...

Just to revive an old thread to get closure.
It seems the max boost for the PTT is 0.8bar and PTTS is 1.2bar. I see 1.1bar in my car also easily after the turbo recall.
Found this video of a PTT with max 0.7bar, which I think seals this topic.

Kip, I have seen 1.1 while on overboost... Peaks for less than a second to 1.2 bar... But 1.0 and .9 are the norm under normal conditions... 1.1 and 1.2 do show up for a very brief half a second... When the weather and temperature cooperate.
I get .8 when not on overboost and I hit it hard, not on sport plus.

I have noticed that the car seems to what I think is over boost when depressing the gas pedal down all the way and engaging the kick down switch regardless if in sport plus or not. The boost meter turns orange even over boosting correct? Or is orange color on boost meter just to signify max boost.
Orange is overboost. MIA997TTBEAST you should only see those kinds of numbers if tuned...
0.9 as in max1.0bar I would understand, 1.1bar should not be possible...
I have seen max 1.1bar ever and it should have a higher peak boost with the powerkit, 0.7-0.8 is normal. Can you post a video for comparison? I always drive 99 octane, is it possible higher peak boosts are caused by poor gas?
