Question clicking steering noise at low speed

1st time porsche owner with a new panamera 4s

Love the car so far, but have one nagging issue that I was wondering if others shared

i saw the thread on binding/skipping at low speeds, but I think my issue is a little different and would love some feedback

when turning hard at very low speeds, ie parking, i hear a disturbing metal click/ping. I'm familiar with the lurching /skipping issue that some 4wheel drive cars experience, but this isn't that. The motion isn't disturbing, just the noise.

my NJ based dealer has been very responsive on other items
but is insisting that this isn't a defect

any thoughts?

If it is coming from the steering column, then the steering wheel clock spring unit needs to be replaced. Had the problem on my 2010 turbo panamera.

I have same issue, it doesn't happen all the time. I am thinking it might be the traction control.

thanks for all the feedback.
I'm still not sure what was causing my problem, but my dealer agreed there was an issue and decided to replace mine with a brand new 2011. Their response was above and beyond what I had expected and they now have a customer for life. Thank goodness there are still a few stand up guys in this business.

i'm still not certain that my problem was the same problem that others are having. But in my opinion, there is now way the engineering geniuses at porsche would allow any little flaw in their design. And if by some chance they erred in their original desgin, they would have come up with remedy by now. If you are not happy, you should bring it back.

I have a '11 P4S with about 800 miles on it and I noticed that I've developed a binding type noise at parking lot speeds.

I'm bring in my car for the air suspension recall this week and will have them look at it.

I'll report my findings back on this thread...
