Discount from MSRP on GTS

What are the thoughts on the level of discount for an ordered GTS? Given it's a new model, what do you think would be a good deal?

It might be tough to get much of a discount on a new GTS (unless you have a very close relationship with your dealer). From what my dealer says, more Panamera production has been diverted to China this year, so there is not a plentiful supply of cars for the U.S. This leads to the same old supply vs demand story, and it is likely that the GTS will be a hot model.

Didn't know about the short supply. That would definitely make it tough.

What about the fact that we're nearing the end of the current design? If it follows the 997 to 991 conversion, the GTS comes out about 12 mo. before a redesign. Is a redesign in 12 mo. in the cards?

There's a 10% margin on most Porsche models. I've been dealing with my local Porsche dealer for years and generally get 8-9% off the sticker. There are other dealer incentives built in, so the dealer is still making plenty.

My dealer said they do not normally discount a new model and that this one will be in demand. That does not mean it won't' happen though. It all comes down to the relationship and loyalty to your dealer. I will let you know how it goes,,,,

Doubt they will discount on a new order for this new model, plus the dealer needs allocation prior to. Orders in general are filled within roughly 4 months from time of allocation. For $25k more it might be smarter to just buy a turbo.

I've got a great relationship with a dealer (instruct for them on the track), and they're willing to give me 6%. I guess that's pretty good.

Now I just have to see if I'm going to go with this or the new M5...

That's seems very fair, sounds like a tough choice.

Yes, definitely a tough call. I really like the handling of the lighter Panamera, but it's really WIDE... I may have a tough time getting it into the garage.

Not too tough when dealing with MN winters. I like the AWD idea!

That is exactly where I would be...GTS or M5. The M5 looks VERY aggressive and I am holding out. Don't laugh, but for me, it will be GTS, M5 or MINI. Yes, MINI...I love the go kart handling and that I can buy one for 1/4 the price the of either!!!!

Its true China is buying up everything, their consumption is huge. All luxury goods prices are going up due to China.

I received only $2K off, but got the first allocation with a 1/21/12 build date. FWIW, I ordered from a very large volume dealership (top 10 in US) and they expected only 2 allocations next year including mine - or so I was told. This is going to be a very low production model it seems...

I got 3% off. 02.01.12 build date. Yes, allocations are very limited. The dealer I ordered from got only one (mine). A large dealer told me he had 7 allocations but it sounded a little off. This dealer in particular offered me $6500 discount but I preferred to stick with my usual Porsche dealer who gave me 3%.

Was told by one of the dealership owners that they get about 13.5% per car...
