Test drive: Panamera 4 vs Panamera Turbo

Dropped my 997 TT for service and got a regular Pan 4 as a loaner.

The car is amazing. The handling, the ride quality, the response, manuverability and the connection to the road is fantastic and this is coming from a guy who just sold his 500 HP M3 and an E55 and drives a 997 TT.

3 days later went back and was talking to the sales guy about the car and was shocked to hear that it was a base Pan with 300 HP The funny part is, the car feels like it has plenty of power and torque for daily driving

Seeing my interet in the car, the guy went out and brought a Pan Turbo for me to drive. The car immediatly felt nose heavy, delayed response, had noticeable turbo lag and definately didn't feel as connected to the road as the base model. The steering was also pretty heavy on the turbo.

Although i didn't get to drive the GTS, but having driven both ( Pan 4 & a Turbo), i would say GTS could be the way to go ?

So far i love this car and enjoying every bit of it

The ti-al turbos get rid of the lag, powerkit is the way to go.

I dont get why it would be more nose heavy when steering unless it didnt have the servotronic option and the 4 had it. Nothing to do with turbos. Funny that most members are advising against servotronic... It is also possible that the 4 had pdcc, and the turbo didnt.
Also Id be carefull in advising to buy a car you didnt drive, the gts, if you are suggesting that the car was nose heavy because of the engine. The 4 has a v6, the gts and turbo a v8, the weight of the turbos dont play a role.

I am also surprised that you are annoyed by turbo lag and yet you drive the 997 turbo that is known to suffer from major turbo lag (owned one).

In the Panny its more important to know what options the car has, before postinghow it handles.

Yes may be i am not aware of the options but all i can say is, the regular Pan is so much fun to drive.

Yes i agree with you about the lag in 997 TT and to be quite honest i am having more fun driving the Pan than my own 997 TT ? Btw how do you correct the lag in 997 TT, Flash ?
