RS6, E63 Amg...
With the new 560 bhp rs6/RS7 and 550bhp e63 amg arriving soon with awd, I find myself surfing on Audi and Mb pages more than Porsche forums. With the low activity on the board, has anyone else noticed this, or are there only people here who don't cross shop? The RS6 arriving as a new model, instead of being the last child of the production line and the MB getting AWD has really changed the playing fiels.
The fact that future Porsches will have the same engines as all other VW cars is a slight problem for me also, as I am not willing to pay only for the Porsche badge...

Are they going to offer the RS6 in the US? Or will it only be available in ROW as usual? I wish they'd offered the V10 twin turbo version here. One would definitely be sitting in my driveway!!!
I didn't realize MB was going to offer AWD on the E63. Will it be standard or an option? The car badly needed AWD to handle the power output. The rear tires were overwhelmed with the power.

I've had so many problems with mercedes cars (and not the cheap ones!) I'll probably never own another one. The audi is hot, but I'm sure it won't make it to the states they never bring the wagon's here - if they did I would have bought the previous generation rs6 avant. The thing about the panamera vs an e63 or s6 is that it looks special. The others look very similar to their little brothers the e350 and a6 and that's why neither of them would be on my shopping list. An rs7 is a whole different story because that car also looks special in my opinion.

The new s8 is what i am currently looking at as my next daily. The rs6 is not coming to North America, the rs7 will be stunning but rear head room is not the greatest. The s8 has the same engine and same size turbo's as the rs variants only de-tuned. In addition, the s6/s7 have smaller turbos. The s8 makes over 520whp, ran 11.8 at 121mph in testing and will be easily tuned to 600whp with just a flash. With that flash, it will pull on the f10 m5 (which is proving difficult to tune), should hang on to the e63, and not break a sweat walking away from anything with 4 doors for less than 100k (which i'm thinking it will be priced below by the time i'm ready to buy). You gotta look at the big boss s65 amg to get 600 plus hp from a 4 door luxo barge, which will cost over 200k.
Even a 640bhp S8 wont pull on a M5, check This thread out. German car mags are not getting Times posted by American mags. The time adjustment overglorifys the S8, Howe er fast it may be. Panamera looks different and feels like a sportscar, others can't match that, but it also attracts too much unwanted attention for my taste.
