Remember the powerkit turbos spool up instantly, more important than the power increase. You won't get that with other tunes.
The GTS has none of the problems that you've mentioned. I would definitely consider this car over the Turbo. The PDK is ultra refined in the GTS. No shudder or hesitation whatsoever.
Now I do have some complaints on the GTS vs the M5 or E/CLS 63 or the Audis. There is a definite 'drone' at between 60-75mph in comfort when you're on the gas. You can solve the problem simply by shifting into 6th gear, either by going into manual, or shifting into sport or sport-plus mode. But the way the car drives and sounds in all other situations pretty much makes up for this shortcoming. I'm really surprised that Porsche has this kind of an issue in a luxury car designed for highway cruising - probably because Germans just don't drive the car that slowly...
My only other major issue is with the user interface - way behind Audi and BMW.

Everyone has different taste and expectations, but in my case, I do not leave the house if it's not in Sport+ where I drive 90% of the time as I do not have that many highway runs. When I get on the highway then I go to Sport.
One thing to note is that I do the shifting, I do not let the car do it as the RPM's are a *****.
I never, never drive in comfort nor the comfort setting (always Sport+ suspension, even when in comfort)
When I do drive the car in comfort, I tend to experience what the OP describes, it completely goes away with any of the other sport modes, then again I do not let the car shift, I shift myself.
The E60 M, had exactly the same "lag" when in P400, it went away when in P500.
OP, maybe your to used to the power in the GT2 PLUS the weight of this car, and there you might have it.
Anyways, I would still enjoy it in good health or jump in to another car.

Always fascinates me how we all have our own tastes. Like I'll read reviews on Amazon, a great product will get mostly 5 star reviews and then out of the blue somebody hates it. This bad review reminds me of that...
I've had a 4s for 1.5 years, 21k miles. Words cannot describe how much I LOVE every second in this car! I'm so psyched to drive ANYWHERE!
Sorry to hear that you don't like yours...makes me wonder if there is something wrong with it...or perhaps something wrong with xxx?

Yes Staceyr, I did quickly read your post...but I apologize for not being clear in my post who exactly I was responding to. I was responding to the starter of this thread, teutonic GT2.
And I fully admit to being a smartass...did not mean to offend anyone.

35kmi review
I now have 35,000 miles on my 970TT which as you might guess makes it my daily driver. Other than having worn out all the front end bushings and having to have them replaced (under warranty) it has been superb. Uses a little more oil than I am used to but nothing I would consider excessive.
I find the Comfort setting to be ideal for commuting in relatively dense traffic - no whiplash and great fuel economy (who would have thought) and with it's fangs pulled I have no hesitation about other family members driving as it pretty much keeps you out of trouble. Sport mode is great for more spirited driving when you need a little more response on the throttle and as everyone else noted, Sport Plus is perfect for aggressive driving. I especially like being able to alter the suspension settings quickly depending on the driving conditions and having the settings maintained after re-starting the car.
To date the only mod I've made was installing the TechArt paddles. Took me 3 hours working at a leisurely pace. I seemed to have developed a muscle memory for the paddles in my RS6 and was constantly bouncing the engine off the rev limited when I went for a right handed upshift and I got a downshift instead. Anyway - problem solved thanks to the TechArt boys!
The PDK is a work of art. Absolutely flawless in my opinion. Considering improving the engine airflow this summer (intake and exhaust system) and if that is effective then maybe the GIAC in the fall.
If I really feel inclined to row a gearbox I have a Miata with an LS3 under the hood - 500hp and 1000lbs lighter than a Carrera S!

Air flow improvements
Thanks - two quick questions;
1) did you keep the stock sport mufflers? I'm actually quite fond of their Jeckle/Hyde functionality. I can cruse the hood without attracting undo attention but the valve makes them high flow through when called upon to move a lot of gasses.
2) did you pay any attention to the intake runners from the intercoolers. I notice both Fabspeed and Agency Power have better flowing solutions. This is an area that also pays big dividends.

Yes, I kept the stock sport mufflers for the same reasons you gave. The FS downpipe with 200cell sport cats provide much better flow and coupled with their x-pipe provide better gas extraction. Combine with intake and good ECU programming you'll see +100hp at the crank. I did not do anything with the intercooler intake runnersn but will check into it.

I don't have a clip but you can go to the Fabspeed site, they have some clips of the same setup (without the intake (IPD plenum and BCM filter) and GIAC ECU programming).

also doing the IPD plenum, that should do it
