Thinking about private partying my car vs trade, advice?

Hey guys. Gonna go back to a Cayenne Turbo, long story and for several reasons, and am thinking about disposition of my current car.

I think the dealers are somewhat low balling me, and that is understandable, so I am thinking about privately selling my car. What do you think she would be worth?

2013 Panamera GTS
GT Silver
20 inch Turbo II's with new tires
Burmester
Black full leather
14 way seats
Piano black trim
Vent seats
Electric shades
Painted side skirts, rear diffuser
MF wheel with TechArt paddle install
K40 front/rear with laser
All other standard bells, whistles...

Opinions?

Dealer offer, for a June trade was at 100k. Car will have approximately 11k miles.

Thanks!

We all know dealers have to make money. Plus all cars depreciate and hugely so in the first couple of years. We've all taken baths but got to drive awesome cars.
I can appreciate that a dealer has to tighten up the car -- dings scratches etc, see to it that the rubber is acceptable, do their inspection, pay to put on an extended warranty, pay their commissions, and advertise the car, and carry it for a few months. Then make a few thousand or more on a higher end car.
So I can understand that they need to low ball you $10-15k.
The answer imo is to see what the similar cars are selling for, list yours for a bit less and take something in between or certainly more than the dealer's offer..
Here in Canada, you can trade in your car and your trade value offsets the sales tax for your next purchase. We can save a huge sum by trading into the dealer, or having our purchaser buy our car "through" the dealer Don't believe that's the case in California and don't know about other states.
Eat your losses, put it behind you and move on. Sometimes you just have to say wtf.

I hear ya, and totally agree.

Was talking it over with a buddy tonight, and my concern is getting a Cayenne now when a facelift is coming. I would have a '13 CTT with a '15 model year "facelift".

I actually like my Panamera. It has been a great car. Just "convicned" myself I needed a SUV again.

Thinking about saving the loss money and putting on a set of new wheels and keeping her another year.

Will have to see. Oh, and no tax savings in my state.

My advice would be to keep the Panny. Most awesome car, unique, and with the hatch is pretty versatile for carrying stuff. The Cayennes drive like a Porsche, but your car is way more Porsche like, if that makes any sense. Champion rims and the like, for summer would be a nice change of scene. Then by 2015 you may be ready. Of course your car will be worth way less then. Ouch. C'est la vie.

Panny GTS...... keep it. Doesn't sound like you are 100% convinced you need a CTT. The GTS is absolutely amazing!!

"Thinking about saving the loss money and putting on a set of new wheels" Did you call Suze Orman on that financial logic. Spend more money on something no dealer will pay you for plus your Panny will depreciate exponentially (More miles/older car) You'll end up with $30-$35K less in your pocket in a year if you buy new. The WTF decision needs to be done now not after spending good money on Wheels knowing you are letting it go in 12 months. Just my pure logic with no emotion in play.

List your car on the PCA website. Members want perfect cars and will pay for them.
I sold a 2005 CTT in 2009 and did very well.

Trade it in. Private sales in my opinion are a pain in the ***. You have to list it, then take the phone calls, then meet at some lame starbucks where the guy is going to ask you if its fast and if its going to get him girls. Then his B.O. will stink up the car and he will be putting his grimy fingers all over the dash. then HE will low ball you. you will finally agree on a price and then you have to deal with a cashiers check or a wire which has to be during business hours. I did this twice in the last 2 years, one 997.2 and one A6, a pain my behind. Will never do it again.

Good advice all around, and appreciated.

CALGUY, I completely get what you are saying. I realize that it would seem silly to make the statement the way I did, but when you look at what I can get a set of wheels for (via discount at dealer) vs what I would be out of pocket right now with trade it is saving money in that sense. Probably poor wording on my side, but that was what I had meant.

I probably will just go for a trade when the time comes. Probably will keep the Panny, and place a deposit on a 2015 so, if the facelift is something I do like, I will make the move then.

Thanks!
