Must car be bought at Porsche dealer in order to have CPOed

Am looking at a used PTT at a Maserati dealership. Was wondering if I bought the car (2010 PTT with 19k) could I then get it CPOed ?

Only a Porsche dealer can CPO a car within the regular warranty. It's a process that Porsche only allow its dealers buy from them.

They and Porsche guarantee that the car passes inspection, and its good for another couple years. If you look at a CPO paperwork the Porsche technician is the one that signs for it.

This is the way Porsche dealers make sure you buy the car from them, with a little peace of mind. It does cost money for them, but I think it's the only way that I would buy a used Porsche or any other high end car from any brand.

Good Luck with your decision, it's a great car.

Once it's certified, it stays that way if you purchase directly from the owner.

Hi,

I have purchased 2 Porsche's from Private parties and worked with a dealer to provide CPO as part of the purchase process. In both cases I bought the cars from out of state. I arranged with local dealer (to the car) to have the car inspected to CPO level, then agreed upon deal with the seller, had seller sell the car to the dealer at that price, then I bought it from the dealer with CPO. In each case I paid the dealer the cost of CPO (to them from Porsche), a pre purchase inspection fee and a fee for their trouble of handling the transaction ($1,000 - $1,500). In both cases dealers were happy to help, make a few dollars and arranged shipping of the car for me at a reasonable fee. So I paid for their time and service and got 2 year old cars with full Porsche CPO, which will add value when you go to sell it.

Good luck with your purchase.
