"New" Press Car Watchouts?

Been lurking around here coming to the conclusion that a Panny GTS would be the perfect car and that I'd probably order a 2014 that I'd spec. I recently stumbled on a "new" (never been registered) high spec 2013 GTS (early 2012 build) with almost 9k miles - I'm told this was a Porsche press car. While not exactly the build I'd order, it is close. So, I have a few big questions, and then some less critical ones.
  1. Price aside, should I stay away from a "press car" with this kind of miles? I assume there's been some track time, perhaps a Porsche World Road Show car. If I do pursue, is there anything in particular I should watch out for?
  2. Price: initial offer was about $21k or 14.6% off of sticker (about $5k under what I think is invoice). What is a reasonable discount for what is now essentially last year's model with almost 9k miles on it?
  3. The steering wheel and shifter are wrapped in Alcantara. Nice touch, but will this look/feel like crap in a couple of years on these high wear surfaces?
  4. Car does not have the Voice Control module. Can this be retrofitted? While I don't use this in my current car, I'd thought it would be useful in the PGTS since there are no controls on the steering wheel.
  5. Car does not have rear wiper. I plan to use this as a 12 month daily driver in a snow area. How is rear visibility in the snow with no wiper? Am I correct that there is no easy way to retrofit this?
  6. When building the 2014 PGTS online, there is no way to get both the GTS interior package and the Entry & Drive option which is important to me. Is this actually the case for 2014 or is the configurator incorrect? I ask because this car does have both which would be a plus if this were not available for 2014.
Thanks.

I got $20k discounted off a 2010 model 4s two years ago (nicely speced car) that for some reason they had for nine months, maybe 300 miles on it...plus they extended the warranty 1.5 years. I would think you'd get a better discount than $21k with 9000 hard miles on the car!

Btw, I wanted the rear wiper too, live where it snows, and it really has not been a problem. The rear defroster works quite well. I mean, if I was specing a new car I'd probably get the wiper, but it's not a deal-breaker.

Just bought a 2014 PGTS with delivery late Aug. Yep, you can only get the entry and drive in a package and selecting that package precludes you from getting the GTS interior.

FWIW I opted for the GTS interior, and I must admit in the 2013 the entry and drive is kinda lame as they have a big ugly key stuck in where the normal key would go and doesnt come out in normal use.

Thanks hummerchine and pjjamesso.

Pjjamesso, may I ask you what % off of sticker you paid for your 2014 PGTS?

I have Voice Control on mine. While recognition is good and can do a range of things, I don't think it's worth the ~$700. It'd certainly cost more to retrofit. Just keep your Bluetooth connected phone in the center cupholder with a quick-access button (e.g. home button for Siri). It comes on over the speakers if you're in BT AUX mode.

While it does not snow in Vancouver it does rain... a lot. I'm really regretting the decision not to have the rear wiper. Defrost doesn't do much for rain, and while it would melt snow, does it do it fast enough to keep the rear window clear in constant snowfall? I'm not so sure.

The entry drive function is awesome and works flawlessly. Big ole ugly key?.... Who really notices/cares... It's black... Blends into interior. Totally a great option.
