carpet makeover

The yachting blue comes with a nice cream colored interior w/navy floor mats. It's real nice but Porsche was a little stupid for not extending the dark carpet around the base of the floor, and kick plate area. BMW has figured that one out. Has anyone with a cream interior switched off their carpeting? Getting into a car from the outside means dirt every time, especially under the left foot area... Seems like an easy job for a car carpet expert.

Have always thought the same thing every time user that cream interior. It's gorgeous but why have that color on the floor.

I would have to agree. The cream interior is beautiful but its impossible not to get dirt on it. Keeping the car inside the garage seems to help but there is still some dirt that manages to get on the carpet.

Do not know about the 2014, but my 2013 pgts carpet is agate grey with the 2 tone agate grey/cream color interior (yachting metal blue exterior). I do agree with the comments about keeping interior clean.... it is a bit of a pain. At the suggestion of others on this forum, I am using Lumiere leather cleaner and i have some leatherique on standby for major cleanings. I am finding that the Lumiere seems to work pretty well as long as I clean regularly.

Oops, my ADD got the better of me. My previous post was about the leather and NOT the carpeting. I second Moe's suggestion....on the autoglym interior cleaner for the carpets.

my cream interior still looks new on my 2010 turbo

i do agree white carpet near the foot area is a bad idea
glad i live where it's sunny 360 days a year makes it much easier to care for
the auto glym interior shampoo works great!

Nice! My cream interior looks pretty good too, but I am running out of the Luminiere cleaner for my leather. They appear to be out of business.

Are you using Autoglym on the cream colored leather too?

I have been reading other forums ie pistonheads and apparently the recommendation is not to use any of the products but simple soapy water and wipe works good for the leather. Wonder if you folks feel differently?

So much for carpet cleaners which are good but don't correct the root cause of the problem -- i.e. too light of a carpet around the dark floor mats.
I just had my carpets redone in navy blue to match the floor mats. We went up about 5 inches from the floor and it looks like a factory/meant to be interior. Takes care of that problem beautifully
