PTT catless downpipes

Several people are using the Fabspeed 200 cell cat downpipes.

Has anyone tried using straight downpipes (catless) on the Turbo? Is it too loud even with OEM mufflers?

You will need a tune if you wanna run catless or you'll get a CEL.

as above you need a tune to get rid of
cel

that said I "doubt" it will be too loud with stock muffler

I run all my 996 turbos straight pipe out and cops dont even say anything

I have the 200 cell cats now and resonator delete with the stock mufflers and you can barely hear the car

I would do it if you could

remember you have the turbos as muffler number one, then twenty feet of pipe number two then a huge clumsy stock muffler

I am thinking of deleting my stock muffler for a straight pipe as turbos really dont need back pressure like a NA car so...

oh yeah, I like loud cars! So take what I say with a grain of salt

Thanks for input. I will be getting a flash to get rid of the CEL.

It would be great if anyone has actually run a PTT without cats.

I couldn't even find a sound clip online.

it wont be that dramatic, between the turbos, the pipe length and stock mufflers

also best HP improvement

my 200 cel cats dont have much muffler factor and my car is quite!

I'm also running the fabspeed 200 cell cats, with their x-pipe into stock sport exhaust - I wouldn't want the car any louder than it is with the valves open and in the rare instance when I want it quieter I can close the valves. I talked to fabspeed before buying my downpipes and they mentioned that the catless pipes don't yield a significant power increase.

if no significant power increase flow and therefore sound is probably similar

my 996 turbo with the straight 200 cell cat pipes and straight pipes sounds about the same.

also straight pipes are much cheaper than the 200 cell cat.
