Help - Clunking noise after installing H&R springs
I had H&R springs installed and love the look and ride. Problem is when I go over speed bumps I hear a clanking noise coming from the rear. Seems like something like the exhaust or something else is hitting something with the lower clearance. Anyone else have this problem and figure out what the problem was?

that can happen with those springs just due to normal compression and expansion. IIRC there was a "fix" for this for the 911's would ask shop about that
if they dont know I will ask my crew chief

Thanks Tom. I don't think it is spring compression. What it sounds like is that because the ride height is lower that something from the undercarriage is hitting against something. Only happens when I go over spread bumps at a slow speed. You hear a clanking noise in the rear. Sometime, not all the time.

Don't know. Very well could be. The car is lowered 1.5". Only happens over speed bumps. That is why I wanted to see if others were experiencing something similar?

I would agree. Do you have V6 or V8? The only logic I can come up with is that the V8 is about 400lbs heavier in front and the springs might have been built to spec on the V8.

I had some time today and put my Panamera up on my lift. I thoroughly inspected the suspension area and can see no where the bottom out clank noise is coming from. Hmmm. Maybe just one of those things I will have to live with. Doesn't happen too often.

Do you have sway bars on your car? If so your sway bars may be hitting the suspension links when the suspension compresses, as you don't have proper clearance with the lowered springs. This happened to me on my 2001 Turbo with I installed Tech Art coilover's, but stayed with stock sway bars - clunked when suspension compressed. We could see no place where things were hitting. After much trial and error we changed out to Tech Art Adj. sway bars and the issue was solved.
May not apply to Panny but good luck.
