It was for pads and brand new rotors.

That still seems like a lot except you are referring to replacing Brembo brakes but regular Porsche brakes shouldn't be that high especially for a P4, PS or P4S.
I know before my Porsche, I replaced my S550 brakes and rotors for about $350 (one side) at the dealer. Though the S class is not a performance vehicle, I dont see the price difference being that much.

You're probably right, I have slotted brake rotors for the PTT.

Pads alone should run you around $250 for OEM. Don't forget wear sensors at $25 approximately for OEM again.

Rotors cost ~$1,200 alone...which is the main reason why I'll be ensuring to change the pads regularly!!

I have a PTT with 46k miles on it. Service records say the fronts were done the first time at about 25k miles. I recently noticed that the grooves in the front rotors were almost none existent so I ordered up a set of OEM rotors and pads. Was $1500 with shipping from Suncoast (25% discount). With packing material the shipment weighted in at 82lbs! The turbo uses larger 390mm floating rotors. I think the other models use 350mm rotors on the front. By comparison, the 911 models use 330mm rotors.

You change your pads yearly? I believe the sensors tell you when the pads are low but don't know how low. With ceramic brakes, those rotors are about four grand.

I'm more so aiming for every 15k. Our PTT is used mainly by my wife who doesn't rack up that much mileage throughout the year (thankfully) but she's a pretty hard driver.

I'm looking to purchase a PTT later this month and knowing how expensive parts are (especially ceramics) it will be prudent to have a schedule so not to change the rotors so often, maybe every 40k miles or something...

I have a 2012 PTT with 36.5k miles - I just had service done and rotors were fine, per the dealer the pad measured within the mid point spec (3 to 5 mm). full spec is 5 mm or over and low spec is less that 3 mm, where service would be recommended. I will need to do the brakes next service - probably just pads, rotors look good.

Car has not seen track duty and is driven normal for an enthusiast. I am quite happy with my brake wear.
