Yes. Local tint guy installed the soft side of Velcro to the car at the bottom where the window goes down. So far no issues of than when really hot you can see some glue streaks that clean right up.

Other installers said as long as you wipe down the plastic that meets the bottom of the window 1 or 2 times per month you will be fine.

With water and damp cloth or micro fiber? or some other solution?

Just a damp micro. The point is to remove the dirt/dust, etc. that gathers in this area that scratches the tint.

Yes Tint Protector sells a kit for the Panamera. Just order the Universal and ask for the Panamera supplemental instructions.

Tint Protectors felt is good stuff. It lasted on my Mercedes for four years before I sold the car and on my friend Pan for the past two.

I would most definitely recommend getting it over the cheap moleskin that is made for homes, not cars.

I have seen the shops offers the following ceramic films:

FormulaOne Pinnacle Series
Prestige Spectra Photosync
Huper Optik
Sun Tek

Anyone has any of these on? What color do they look like from in & outside? How do you like it?

The other one that is extremly popular is 3M Crystalline, but I dont think they are ceramic? Anyone has the Crystalline on your car, how you like it?

Lastly, I am near OC/LA, any recommend tint shop that knows how to tint Panamera?

Greatly appreciated.
JT
You may just want to check out the thermal glass option since you are ordering. I have it and its great but maybe not dark enough for you.

We did a comparison with Spectra PhotoSync to compare it to the thermal glass offered by Porsche here:

I got the Premier Spectra PhotoSync installed on my car, 75% front windshield, 55% driver/passenger and 35%?? in the passenger rear and rear windows. Love the look, and it does really help with the heat. I no longer feel the sun burning my face and arms when driving. Even the sun heat from the front windshield has also been diminished. Price is a tad higher than your average tint but its well worth the price.

Got good customer service and they took good care of me and my car. 2010 Panny 4S.

Thank you for the feedback. Prestige Film Technologies made a stellar product with Spectra PhotoSync. We no longer have any issues that some of the other manufacturers have with their high-end tint. Some of the ceramic tints on the market do have metals that actually affect wireless signals and keyless entry systems.

If you are seeking an installer outside of our area (we are located in the San Francisco Bay), contact the manufacturer to see who is in your area:

408-657-3880 or vtran@prestige-films.com

With any premium grade product there aren't dealers everywhere. From what we've seen, there is typically only several Authorized Dealers per state.

Just a quick correction - Prestige Film Technologies is the maker of Spectra PhotoSync - www.prestige-films.com

Thanks!

Today we took a quick surface temperature reading on a 2014 VW Touareg we just received. The car was sitting outside for 15 minutes before we brought the vehicle inside to our facility. But before we did, we found these astounding numbers:

Front driver seat - 156 degrees F
Front driver side dash - 163 degrees F

This is the reason dashboards and leather seats tend to crack over time. Daily exposure to the sun's UV and infrared rays can wear down the interior significantly in a short amount of time. Product quality and performance is why we choose to use Spectra PhotoSync Nano Tint by Prestige Film Technologies.

Spectra PhotoSync reduces total solar energy by up to 79% and block out up to 98.5% of IR and 99.5% of UV. We have used most of the high-end tint out there and there's nothing on the market, in our opinion, that can stack against this product

Had my Panny tinted recently and have a number of vertical scratches on driver window. Called tint shop and they said it will keep happening on Pannys. They said they used to use the felt but it actually created additional issues with the door panel so they stopped using it. I may take it back to get the windshield done for summer and have the driver window re-done at no cost then try the damp micro-fiber wipe down method now that I know about the issue. Have never had this issue on any other car.

I had my tint installed cause i got a good deal but it needs to be redone ..i don't have the felt and could not find someone who could do it on the plus side it can't be seen from the outside however i notice it REALLY fast

but let me ask you have you ever heard of a window tint installer actually saying they have had return work?
