New Panamera Window Tint Questions

Hello,
Just ordered 2014 Panamera and the first thing I want to do is to tint the window. I know there are scratch issues due to the window seal.

Has anyone installed felt, moleskin or "tint protector" on your Panamera? How do they hold up?

I have seen the shops offers the following ceramic films:

FormulaOne Pinnacle Series
Prestige Spectra Photosync
Huper Optik
Sun Tek

Anyone has any of these on? What color do they look like from in & outside? How do you like it?

The other one that is extremly popular is 3M Crystalline, but I dont think they are ceramic? Anyone has the Crystalline on your car, how you like it?

Lastly, I am near OC/LA, any recommend tint shop that knows how to tint Panamera?

Greatly appreciated.
JT

There was a thread where they mentioned that for panamera they would have to install the felt to avoid scratches to tint as Panny's don't come stock with those.

I'm planning to go with Premier for my tint job soon. ( photosync ) and probably have them also do my bumper and hood protection as well.

I have spectra photosync installed on mine by premier a year ago. They did apply felt on all the windows but mine still ends up with scratches on them, probably about 2-3 lines now. They looked blue on the outside.

I had a photosync installer in Atlanta area tell me that the photosync does have a blue tint to it. Decided against it and going with ceramic from an installer used by my dealer. This guy does install felt and dealership says they have never had a comeback on his work. So csufl, definitely find an installer who uses felt. Pans will scratch tint.

Hi 2010Panny & Tony,
Thanks for your info. I am assuming the Premier you mean is from Norcal, I believe they closed the one in OC....

So the Spectra photosync looks blueish from outside, what about from inside?

I would prefer something more natural color like light brown or charcol, and non reflextive...

Any recommendation for ceramic film with more natural color?

Thanks!

Hi halb,
Thank you for your comment. Do you mind to share the film brand you are using on the Panny and what color does it look like?
Thanks!

Congrats on the new Panny!

My dealer's installer did mine for $350 (25% tint). The only thing I had to do was not wash the car or open the windows for 3-5 days and I haven't had any issues.

I would do the Huper Optic and I have done it on all my cars for the last 5-6 years. The main advantage of it is it keeps the UV rays out and keeps the car so much cooler then any other offering.

Moe offers it. He is local and board sponsor.

Also Perfect Window Tint in Santa Ana does it too and thats where I go. They are really well known in the BMW world...

Hi FKim,
Have you done the tint on the Panny yet? If so, did you put felt or moleskin on your car to prevent the scratches?
Thanks!

Same from the inside, it looks blue. I've attached an example, comparing it with the windows down. Look at the windshield as well as the left of the front window and compare it with the windows down.
