which wheels for Agate Panamera Turbo?

Hi all,

picking up the new (used) Turbo soon. I have a choice of the Turbo II wheels that came with car or replacing with Black 20" sport wheels with silver lip. Personally, I think the Turbo II is probably the more appropriate wheel, but any other opinions? in looking at pics online at agate with the sport wheels, it's nice too, but I'm not sure if the silver rim around the black wheels, against an agate grey Panamera is the right thing to do... Just checking with forum friends....

thanks.

MackSea is infamous around these parts
I had the turbo II on my black 2010 and I thought they look great. On a lighter color car I always think a black wheel looks killer - though some will argue it gets boring and always looks dirty.

What's the current status on your 4S - were they able to get all the kinks out?

MackSea, it was an S, not 4S :-). They replaced many parts including PDK. New pdk introduced a new problem or two (rubbing/grinding in 3rd) but not too bad. Suspension much better. Porsche took great care of me and I ended up trading for the new turbo I'm picking up Wednesday hopefully. It actually is an untitled vehicle driven by owners son and has 12,000 miles but I'm cool with that. They are doing some work on it now, hence the delay.

How's the Beemer doing?

It isn't in the same color as your car, but I like the look of ADV1 wheels on Panameras.

Glad to hear they took good care of you. You must be excited with the new ride on the way. I do hope after all you went thru it works out. Can't wait to see some photos of your new ride.

I just noticed the dealer that took my 4S on trade has since sold it - I do hope the new owner can get the last of the kinks out of the car and enjoy it.

The 550 is great! No problems going into month two, and of course the mod bug has bitten me, so I have to struggle with carbon fiber vs. painted add on bits like a chin splitter, decklid spoiler, etc. and of course which tune to run BMS vs. Dinan.

No pic in the link. But I'm not spending money at this time on wheels. This us a free choice I have. I'll probably stick with the turbo II. I do happen to like them and they match the agate. But I'm open to suggestions.

i run black hre's (see signature) on my agate gray turbo s in the summer, personally i think the black wheel thing is getting a bit played out since plasti-dip hit the market seems like every kid with $20 and a few hours to kill has sprayed their wheels black. The chrome accent on the sport wheel breaks up the wheel/tire and I think looks nice - the one benefit of the black wheels is that the brake dust doesn't show as much which makes the wheels appear cleaner for a longer period of time.

I think the Turbo II's look awesome on this car, regardless of the color. ALso, on black wheels, I personally hate the silver lip...such an '80's look

Wished mine came with Turbo IIs instead of the 19" turbo wheels it came with. 4S.

Good info. I tend to agree about black being played out

thanks guys. I think I'll stick with the Turbo II's. We know they work, so why reinvent the wheel (no pun intended).... happy Motoring!

I like Turbo II wheels of the choices you outlined. If you go aftermarket I like black wheels on Agate Grey for sure. HRE P40's in gloss Black.
