I noticed that. Please use an "S" or specify BMW or MB.

I'm coming from an older M5 (E39) and I love it however it's getting old and my wife and I are looking at this as an opportunity to have some fun before the kids get driver's licenses.

I can't thank you all enough for the feedback and the excellent comments. Truly helpful! We drove a Turbo today (Executive) and fell in love with it much more than the 4S Executive. Amazing car and ride.

I was trying to stay under the Turbo Executive's price but may need to splurge. Am I missing any other cars comparable?

Thank you again for the feedback. We picked up our Cayenne today and the wife is in love!

The Rapide is serious lacking in terms of features, and is the only 4-door highend car that a sunroof is not available.

Are they generally available at dealers? I'm curious and the Turbo Exec is only a small bit less so it's in the ballpark. (Probably not going to buy the Rapide but curious)

The cars I cross shopped against the Panamera were the Audi S8, Audi RS7, MB CLS63 s-AMG and the Maserati QP GTS. I went with the Panamera GTS. Best all around. Two adults can sit in the back, fast, styling I love. S8 is really nice, but styling too mild for me. Looked at the Tesla for 2 seconds... don't want to have to go to a touch screen to open the sun roof.

I tried or owned all the cars you are considering - I love the B7 but I liked my S63 better at the time when I shopped them against each other. They are exact competitors.

The Aston Rapide is absolutely the greatest 4 door ever if you never plan on driving it a lot or putting anyone in the back seat - the deals on them are extraordinary. But as a daily driver it frustrated the dickens out of me when I drove one for two days this summer.

The new Maserati QP was the car I waited years for and I drove one this summer also for a few days and it was boring and seemed to just be like a big car and lost all it's unique quirkiness the old car had - I think they made the car too big compared to the previous version - and to charge 10k for leather on a 150k car is obscene - standard vinyl on a 150k car is truly sad.

The Panameras are a neat alternative to the daily luxury car grind - buy the most expensive engine you can afford - the Executive versions add an extra 700lbs to the car so keep that in mind.

For now the Panameras are my answer to the S63 but I think the Rapide will probably be my next car just because it sounds so good and is so rare.

I moved from a B7 to my Panamera Turbo and they are very different cars. The B7 is fast, but in the curves you feel its weight. The PTT feels much more agile and planted (granted I have a widebody kit) for a car of its size. However the B7 was much more practical from a trunk and passenger comfort perspective. Much more leg and headroom in the back. Repairs on the Alpina can be a pain if it is specifically an Alpina part as inventory is limited.

I moved out of an E60 M5 to a Panamera S as a daily driver. Absolutely love the car. Sure the M5 is a unique car with more power and performance than you can wish for in a four door barnstormer. The Pano is a far more enjoyable drive and the whole package is so well put together that daily commute is fun. Drove the new M5 prior to choosing the Panamera, nice car but no soul like the E60. Looked at the Quattraporto.....awesome sound and styling but it's a Ferrari engine and maintainance is just ridiculous.
