New Pilot Super Sports being mounted as I type!
New Pilot Super Sports being mounted as I type!
Based on all your comments and a few defects in the PS2's currently on car, replacing with all new PSS. I'm excited and look forward to drive home. Will offer my initial take shortly. Hope it's all it's cracked up to be.
Cost a pretty penny, but well worth it.
From what we gathered, out of round in 3 tires. 2 places
Plus dealer balanced and had a small bounce not seen in steering wheel but felt internally. Decided we should try the PSS.
With only about 15 mikes on them and in highway most of them, they seem about 10-15% quieter, 20% smoother and handles with a but more ease in the steering wheel. Overall a nice improvement, and SMOOTH! As for them being a pretty penny, yes, all tires in our size ranges are expensive but these are less than PS2 and a bit more than the Pirelli's. Pirelli offers no warranty at all, Michelin offers 20k(ps2) or 30k(PSS), cut in half if non rotatable, like
Ours. At least some help is available if the need arises. They appear to have a slightly, albeit dry slight, lower profile sidewall. Could be my eyes messing with me though. We loaded 42lbs all around to start, per shop's guage. Tpms is showing 44 cold. I'll check in the morning with my 2 gauges, both pretty spot on. I'm thinking 40lbs around may do it, but honestly with my PS2, I didn't really notice much if a difference between 38, 42 or even 45. 45 was a tad bit firmer but really took focus to feel the difference. 38 offered a similarly stellar ride and handling with the opposite tad but softer. 10% difference in feel from 38 to 45 lbs. this is to my touch, my feel. Others may notice a much more Varying difference.
Bottom line- so far they are a Noticeable improvement over both PS2 and Pzero's (more so). I suspect the grin on my face will remain
