New Turbo at the Docks

Gents - I just got a call from the dealer. They said my '14 turbo is at the docks and should be here this weekend.

I've had my '14 GTS for about 8 months and loved it, but really missed the power of the Turbo.

Let the MODDING begin!! I will put up picks as soon as I get them.

Cheers

RattleItHome is infamous around these parts
I'm so jealous. I'm expecting a GTS on the 20th of this month. Did your turbo arrive 2 weeks early? My dealer said that they typically receive shipments early if everything is truly on schedule. Which means maybe mine was on the same boat? Fingers crossed. Post some pictures.

Interestingly, I thought the car arrived a bit late. I ordered in March, what I thought was an April build. But, I think it's actually a May build. I guess even if it's an early May build, 2nd week of June for delivery sounds about right. When I ordered by '14 GTS from order to delivery was 2 months so I think I got spoiled!

Gents - in terms of Mods, I'm on the fence about the down-pipes! The new turbo's have an upgraded plenum and I spent some $$$ on the sport exhaust so definitely a tune and either the DPs or an X-pipe. I think the DPs are about 8 hours to install so that I'm not so thrilled about! I don't want to remove and reinstall a bunch of parts on such an expensive machine!

Any thoughts?

DPs are where the biggest gains will be in conjunction with a tune.

Austin - do you guys still need the ECU on the Panny or can one of your dealers load the software?

Thanks,

Thanks,
They still need to be shipped here to GIAC for programming. We're able to typically turn them around the same day that we get them if we receive the shipment early enough (normal Fedex overnight gets to us at 10am).

Definitely a tune. (GIAC / FVD etc...)

On the front side, agree on the plenum - not sure if you would see any improvements with the IPD on the 14+... Don't think anyone has tested the IPD or AP Y-pipe vs the 14+ OEM plenum. Maybe consider the bmc filters here... What we need is a really good intercooler solution for the PTT (that's possibly the only significant gains you would see from the intake side due to new plenum & what I really want).

On the back end, def consider downpipes (fabspeed / fvd etc) - fabspeed est is 8hrs labor but my shop said they were tough but did it in half that time... Xpipe is nice and deletes a resonator for mucho bark but if you are sticking with the sport exhaust it might not be worth it (much more gains w/ downpipe).

If you want to look at new cat back exhaust solutions which would extend from your downpipes (which sounds like you may not be in the market for) - check out the newer capristo exhaust (youtube clips from gumbal / "prior design panamera")... Capristo system sounds fierce and it includes the valves too (I really want someone here to go with that system - I think it sounds incredible from what I've heard online). Another solution to look at might be the FS xpipe and Meisterschaft axel back w/ valves combo...

Super Lightweight forged wheels 21-22 HRE/ADV1 etc (I reduced 5lbs per wheel from my OEM sport design to 22" adv1 SL) also a nice upgrade...

Good places to start. I'm considering larger upgraded turbos / custom tune on my PTT at the moment but I also would really want to include an intercooler solution in the mix at this point (that would be the next step - stage 4)
