***New tires***

Hey guys...

Searched for a thread pertaining to the favorite tires of Panamera owners--couldn't find one. Anyway, I'm due for new 20" tires...the dealer ordered Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. After a bit of research, I'm not sure if this is the best tire. Maybe the Super Sport, or the Pilot Sport Ps2? Anyone have experience w/ the A/S? Suggestions... Thx

Never tried the A/S 3 but I am currently using the PSS. Went from Pzero to the PSS and never regretted. Definitely less road noise and more comfortable without sacrificing handling.

I have 10k miles on my PSS and still going strong. Quiet, stick like glue, and supple on the bumps.

M Super Sports are the best IMO. Had them on my M5 (after going through Mich PS2s) - awesome and felt more planted in dry/rain. Pirelli's are softer and with a heavy car like P you'll burn through them faster which means they'll be singing sooner as well. If your looking at A/S, arent they for all seasons??? do you need that kind of tire in the South??

Both PS2, Super Sport, and Pilot Sport AS+ are N rated for the car. Lifespan will be best with the AS+, followed by Super Sport and then PS2. Ultimate steering response will be best with the PS2. The AS+ will be best on colder mornings/evenings if 50 degree temperatures or less are seen.

I have all three in stock, please call me if I can best help you pick. Thanks.

I have the DWS on my E500 and they are fantastic. Great grip in snow as well.

My sentiments exactly... But I have read good things about the A/S--as far as the longevity/handling/comfort balance is concerned.

Michelin PSS are a good all-round tyre. Very good in the wet. If you are used to more track-oriented tyres though, you may be a little disappointed in their wall stiffness (i.e. it isn't that stiff) and hence turn-in is affected. Inflating to higher pressures helps.

An example was when moving from Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres on my GT-R to PSS, I definitely noticed a loss in steering feel and speed. Gained comfort, quietness and ability to drive in the wet though, so I was pleased!

Thanks for all the input guys...think I'll be OK sticking w/ the A/S. I'm coming from the Pirelli P Zeros--which where a bit stiff, but performed awesomely. I'm willing to sacrifice SOME performance for an increase in comfort too.

So I'm eating my words... I have the Michellin Pilot Sport A/S and I hate them! I really miss my Pirelli's and all their road gripping, wide splendor. So, it looks like I'm out of $1600 and a car I really used to love driving.

I'll more than likely end up buying a set of Pirelli's and selling the Pilots (If anyone's interested--PM me)
