Your car is ugly!
I'm a Porsche owner and I think the Panny is fugly, so out of proportion and trying too hard to look like a Porsche. But have no fear, the Boxster and Cayenne started out looking fugly as well and they got it right. It's only a matter of time before they get the Panamera right.
Color if the car also makes a big difference. My neighboor said that he doesnt like the way panamera looks. Then I bought the car and he said that he didnt see the car in this color and he think it looks good. Same thing with my last car, I think that the car in other color looked ugly and I wouldnt buy it at all.
"They'll get it right later" doesn't have any bearing on me, since I don't own a future Panamera, I own a 2015.
I do not think it's fugly. I started this thread because I was baffled by all the negativity. I don't think it's sexy like the Cayman or 911, but it's not ugly.
I cant believe what i'm reading, the Panamera is gorgeous and in my opinion the only other better looking porsche is the 911. The Panamera looks good in every color combo and the compliments and looks I get just keep coming.
Outside of a Mercedes, this is the only other vehicle I have ever considered owning. Not a Lexus (those don't look good to me at all), Not a bmw (Average exterior and bland interior, M badge or not), Audi (not a fan and it just screams 3rd best imo).
I love my Pana S and enjoy driving it everyday.

If I have a choice, I won't get it (and that's why I didn't).....didn't like it when it first came out, but then it slowly grew on me. Looks alright from the front and rear, just not the side profile.
But people, that's not the worst.....the absolute WORST part of it is when you see that hideous spoiler extended out when the car is parked!! I mean come on people, that spoiler is embarrassing, let alone sticking it out. Hit the auto button and let it retract when it's not needed! It's butt ugly!
Every time I laughed my *** off when I see the cayman and boxter do that....that little thing they call spoiler is
!!!

I'm trying my best to be tactful esp since this is the Panamera subforum, but it's really not very attractive imo. When the Boxster first came out, they tried too hard to make it look like an 'entry-level' P-car so that's what they achieved. The Cayenne is no looker either but at least it has the excuse of being a SUV, so it could get away w/ looking brutish and awkward. However, a sedan esp one coming from Porsche should still have nice, flowing lines. I don't see that in the Panamera, it just looks like too many things are happening in terms of design, wanting to be many things...and that rear, man...
I still don't like the Cayenne.

Former panamera owner here - and not trying to bash since I don't own one anymore (moved over to BMW). Frankly, I think my 5 series with M-Sport IS a better looking car. Dad owns a BMW 650GC w M-Sport as well - and much like the panamera - BMW went over the top with the 650GC to the point it's nearly unattractive.
Back to the Pan. It's not ugly. But it's not exactly attractive. Whoever said color makes a difference is exactly right. Mine was black and that was the ONLY color I'd buy the car in. THink of it this way - look at all the women who wear yoga pants - they mostly come in black. And even someone who maybe shouldn't wear yoga pants "might" look ok because the pants are shaping - and black - ie. flattering. Put that same person in a pair of white pants - YIKES! Same for the Pan - I think in white the back half of the car looks hideously huge. Front on view is great, front quarter is good. Side profile starts to get goofy behind the doors and from the rear...well.
Is anyone a huge fan of the old 928? That too was a little....well?

I'll chime in as a panamera owner... Hrmm - are we talking about the same car here?
Below is a link to my panamera turbo on Instagram that some third party took pic and posted from the caffeine and exotics car show in Atlanta...
The pic has 30,000 likes and over 100 comments with only one comment being negative. Amazing that a car with so many comments and likes could be considered "ugly".
Every time I take my panamera out I get compliments and thumbs ups. I've had people hang out their window air pumping as they drive by me on the highway (to the point where it startles me). My wife can't drive the car without tremendous attention and people trying to talk to her at stop lights.
A neighbor recently traded in his 911 for a black panamera and told me the other day that he gets a lot more compliments on the pani vs his 911.
I think this a lot of this hate comes from a lasting outrage that porsche released a sedan / 4 door and/or the absolutely horrific stock photos that are taken of the car on 19" wheels and no air suspension that most websites and articles use.... That's IMO about 95% of it - 5% is the 3/4 rear or side view "rear hump" that I could see the need for being refined somewhat.
I'll also give you that the car just isn't very photogenic esp in stock form. However in person - It's got great uniqueness and quite a dramatic presence (where typically just can't be captured in photos for some reason).
Agree that darker colors on the panamera are best and the car absolutely needs at least 21" (22" perfect however IMO) wheels to look correctly proportioned with 3/4"-1" lowering adjustment to the lowest air suspension height for correct stance.
Combine this with an aftermarket exhaust for one of the best sounding cars out there and that incredible fit and finish of the interior and speed that will take your passengers breath away (yes, I've had 1st time passengers tell me that)... It's quite a vehicle.

You shouldn't need aftermarket mods to make a product appealing, IMHO.
The picture you posted... it absolutely minimizes the rear end design and maximizes the Porsche-ness of the car... the front end.
Also the reflections in the paint act as camoflage. Ok, I admit that I'm just trolling with that comment.

I also don't see the audi 7 being anything special... The rear on that to me is not very pretty at all. I like the panamera design much better
