How dumb is this idea - sell my PTT and get a Fisker?

That's my plan after a day of thought - Keep the PTT and get the Fisker and no great loss if I have to get rid of it quickly.

There are some crazy deals on 2014 Maserati QP's though - I have seen over 40k off sticker for brand new cars. There's probably a reason for that unfortunately.

Any car with a discount of 20% or more is for a reason. The second you buy it it's worth much less. Went through the same thing with a M6 Gran Coupe. Over 30K off. But was trading 15K less than that on the pre-owned market.

From the side it's certainly nice enough looking. But that's about it. A pretty face in profile.

Stacking the Karma up to an uber-sedan (or coupe) like the S63 doesn't compute. The S63 is 3-4X the cost but is backed by a real warranty from a real car company. The S63 will run circles around the Fisker, too.

If you're set on the Fisker, then go for it. Maybe the acquisition cost is the big draw. Maybe the uniqueness. Enjoy whichever vehicle you choose.
I'll agree it lacks performance but there isn't another four door car that looks as exotic as the Fisker. I'm not sure where you're coming from in the looks analogy and obviously certainly in the minority from other opinions. I recently saw one up close at cars & coffee event and the car gathered more attention than the F cars Lambos and P cars. Guy said it had a 135k sticker and he bought it for half. I'd say for $60,000 you can't go wrong since they announced a return to the market.

The profile shows off the heavily sculptured design.

The other two views are just not good. That's the thing about aethestics... it's entirely subjective...

Car looks completely different in person. You might have found the two worst poics ever (lol)
i know there are a few owners who have both on the forum perhaps one of them will chime in. I 'd certainly consider one for the current price. Car is amazing looking from all aspects.

REAL LIFE vid

I grabbed two pics from the web. One of the front and one of the rear. Which are precisely to two views I stated weren't very appealing.

That's what the car looks like when shot low from the front and low from the rear. No one can do anything about that.

Fisker is a beautiful car and I'd venture to say one of the best looking cars on the road from any angle.

Good luck keep the PTT as well best of both worlds !

Bob Lutz was offering to install the ZR1 powertain into Fisker cars. It was not a cheap endeavor.

looks like a vette from the front
a jag from the rear
a maserati gran turismo from the side

needs to drop some weight or get the destino zr1 package for better performance

I think that the Fisker is probably the most beautiful car on the road today - and it will be a fun alternative to my "boring" PTT - which is probably the best all around daily driver made.

I would go for the BMW i8. I think it looks better and has a backup 1.5 liter engine, so you dont need to leave the car by the road if batteries are empty. Also it has a lot of tech like the laser lights, also AWD and 4 seater...

The only car Im seriuosly think could replace my Panny is the S 63 AMG coupe and that also only because of safety and other tech:

Fisker has a 4cyl engine also - Tesla is the one that is no joy if the charge runs out.

Saw a Fisker on the freeway today. Simply stunning looking and IMO way better looking than the i8.

Tesla is great technology but looks like a cross between Kia optima and ford fusion
