Programming Key Bought on eBay
Programming Key Bought on eBay
Hi,
I'm in need of a 2nd key for my 2013 Panamera GTS (bought it pre-owned and it only came with one key).
I found a number of keys being sold on eBay, like this one: ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-PANAMERA-CAYENNE-911-CAYMAN-BOXSTER-10-14-SMART-KEYLESS-ENTRY-REMOTE-OEM-/111451674207?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Make%3APorsche%7CModel%3APanamera&hash=item1 9f309965f&vxp=mtr
Does anyone know of an automotive locksmith in the NY/CT area (I'm in Greenwich, CT) that can program and cut this key?
How much do these places typically charge for this service?
From what I understand, most dealerships refuse to program pre-owned keys because they prefer to sell you a new one with programming for $500!
Please let me know if anyone has done this before.
Thanks!

I bought my GTS from an independent dealer, so unfortunately there's no customer loyalty that my local dealer needs to adhere to by providing this service complimentary for me.
