Winter questions

I am debating if I should switch the tires to all season or winter or garage the ptt and drive my daughters Honda during this Washington, D.C. Season. Any thoughts.

If u have access to another ride I'd drive that. But the panny can handle the winter to a degree. Here in Vegas I don't have to worry about that but drive her car a lot keeps the miles off the beast

I put Pirelli Sotto Zero Serie II tires on my PTT and it's great all winter, even staying on my 20" wheels. Snow, ice, etc. - did great. Only issue to worry about is ground clearance if the snow is too deep.

since the PTT has 4 wheel drive, it should be great on snow, cold, etc. provided it has proper tires. Given how the DC area can be prone to slippery/sloppy/slushy messes, your best bet would be to go with true winter-rated tires (rather than "all-season" tires that are rarely good for winter conditions), which will likely cause the PTT to be one of the best-equipped cars on the road for adverse conditions. This, paradoxically, becomes the "rub" -- while your PTT may be "dialed in" on snowy days, that won't stop some yahoo running bald tires from sliding into you when it can't handle a snowy day -- although I struggle with this issue here in Denver with my '86 911 daily driver, I continue to switch to snows and use it throughout the winter as I wouldn't be satisfied driving the alternative.

the panny will do very very well even with all season tires.i live in new york and we had a nasty winter last year and i had no problems, just have to be mindful of clearance but overall a very very good experience!

Screw all seasons. If you can manage two sets, then go for a winter tire. No need for a true snow tire here in the DC area on a car like that. Pirelli Sotto IIs served me well last winter on my E63S, and I'm not dreading them going on in a few more weeks, either.

I bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit last year at this time and I'm glad I did. No way the Panamera would have even made it up my street half the time last winter. I'm hoping this year is not as bad.
