2010 PTT. When I go over uneven pavement , I can hear a "thumping" noise from the trunk area. Technician at dealer could not recreate with last visit, suggested it could be the air compressor pump for suspension which floats on rubber bushings.
Thoughts?

 

I have the same problem with my 2011 P4 but I've noticed it only happens when it's cold outside - very cold (30's or below). I'm taking the car in later this week and will let you know what they say.

 

Same issue with my 2013 Hybrid. Brought it for repair and was told the battery cover was loose, did not solve the problem. Happens in hot or cold conditions. I will bring it back in, Curious if you get a resolution and what caused he noise.

 

I just bought a 2010 4S ad though it is certified. ...i am hearing possibly the same noice when in the back seat.,

I brought it in when it was freezing and they test drove it when it was warm - they couldn't reproduce it. It's back in the shop again, hopefully two times a charm. I'm also having front end noise that needs to be addressed. If they can't fix this I will probably trade it in - it's that annoying.

 

Yah, it's gotta sit out overnight to reproduce the crunching noise in the front end. Hopefully the weather will cooperate

 

+1000 on that bobolouie.I told the dealer exactly that and the sound was duplicated.
