X-pipe options for TT

How does the Fabspeed X-pipe compared to lets say a universal Magnaflow x-pipe? My local shop told me that there is absolutely no difference and that he can install it for me for a 20% of the Fabspeed x-pipe cost. To me the major difference is that Fabspeed comes with a complete pipes that replace most of the stock pipping and Magnaflow is just an x-pipe where shop would have to retrofit it to the stock slightly bended piping.
My TT has oem setup and i'm looking to increase the sound slightly without going loud.

Can anyone tell me also in general if they did resonator delete with x-pipe only and if it was a noticeable difference and no drone?

What about fabspeed 200 cell downpipes for example ? They do not trigger cel ,increase sound and gas flow also in the future you can add a stage 2 remap. I would not touch the resonator because it will increase the drone under your feet if you go straigh and 50% maybe less with xpipe.I have always hated that scavenge effect anyway ,it can make sense on na cars but not turbocharged one. It always felt that the xpipe was blocking they turbos to flow.

I now these because I experimented the same way with my cayenne turbo

I was considering Fabspeed 200 cell downpipes as a second option if Xpipe won't give me what I'm looking for. I'm not looking to change the tone of the exhaust a I like it and therefore don't want to touch original mufflers, just want to hear them more. I was thinking that xpipe is relatively inexpensive mode that I can try and if I get a drone I can always put my original resonator back and go with fabspeed 200 cell downpipes.

I'm not sure how many of you heard new exhaust on 2014-2015 TT, this is what I'm trying to achieve.

I'd recommend both the FS downpipe w/200cell sportcats and the FS xpipe combined with stock PSE. If only one, the downpipe w/sportcats is the better way to go in terms of sound and performance since this area is the biggest restriction in the stock exhaust as many of us already know.
Enjoy!

Everyone here is spot on, for the Panamera TT, the sport cat down pipes are HANDS DOWN the best modification. You will increase the exhaust tone, eliminate a lot turbo lag, and improve throttle response. Its a win-win scenario from every angle!

Agreed - for the Panamera TTs (as well as the Cayenne TTs) the most common modification we do here at the shop after the IPD Plenums are the Fabspeed downpipes/bypass pipes. Bolt on, better tone, much better throttle response and really unrestricts the car in a huge way!

Jason, if I only do 200 cell cats and not xpipe, how much louder will exhaust get? And then what is the percentage as far as noise level if doing xpipe after downpipes?

What I'm trying figure out is the noise level. I've had few car where things were a bit over the border and it was very annoying driving this car on the freeway. So this is the last thing I want for my TT.

The 200 cell catted downpipes won't make the tone too much louder at all - what it will do is give it a more aggressive variation. The x pipe will make things a bit MORE rowdy as well, but you won't have any drone - which is what is likely what you experienced with your other cars making them annoying to drive - especially on the freeway.

I can confidently say you won't have any issues with the noise being too loud after you do the catted downpipes - and if it's still a little tame for you, or you want some additional power, you can definitely go with the x pipe without make the car a burden to drive everyday.

Everyone is a bit different from a noise tolerance standpoint, but no one has said this setup was too loud so far in our experience...it's just right

Unfortunately CARB approval is extremely difficult, if not impossible for most aftermarket manufactures to achieve right now.

Jason is on point here.

The performance gains are huge with the down pipe, and the x-pipe would be the cherry on top to push the sound output to the next level if you are looking for more then what the down pipe produces alone.

X pipe

If anyone is interested, I'm selling my 2011 PTT and parting out my FS downpipes with 200 cell sport cats and FS X pipe and IPD intake plenum. I've posted for sale in the parts section.

"200 cell catted downpipes " can you please explain what these are and provide a product link? I'm still learning, but it sounds like it can give me the non-warranty voiding additional power I'm looking for without making things noisy??

I’m curious if anyone has experienced replacing the resonator with x pies or straight pipes while keeping the stock cats and PSE valves mufflers.
I’m in California and reluctant to touch the cats.
