Check engine light

I've got an intermittent "check engine light" on my 2010 Turbo. I gave this car to my wife a year ago. When it was my DD from 2010-2014 it had some issues that I won't re-hash at this point. The car is getting old (85k+ miles), it just is what it is. The issue is EVERY SINGLE TIME I MAKE AN APPT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT IT GOES AWAY for a few days and then magically pops back up. At first I thought is was the gas cap. I even got a gas cap not tight error one time. Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas?

Get a bluetooth OBD II from amazon for about $20. Scan the code when the CEL appears.

cheetos72 is infamous around these parts
Or durametric of course. I would think that it should store the code even if the condition that caused it goes away.

Any rough running or anything notable when it is on?
