If you happen to have the olive wood trim package woukd you mind posting so e pics of it? I currently have the cognac leather with the dark maple but was thing the olive would give a nicer ,lighter more natural feel. Woukd love to see any combinations with this trim if you have it.
Mac, my PSeH was spec ordered by the dealer with black trim and Cognac/Cedar. It really didn't look right.
Here's some pics I snagged from the web from when I was shopping for an alternative trim.
Olive:
We went with Tineo, because it was cheaper and had less obvious graining: (I would have not accepted the trim if it had that black streak as with the dash piece in the second pic. That looks terrible)
The tineo does look nice but i love tha the olive is a natural matte finnish. Sounds silly but for me it has a closer raw connection feeling with the car. Appears the grain pattern can be pretty wild. Thats why i was hoping to see actualmspecimen in the wild pics if people have them. Thanks for posting!
IIRC the olive trim has texture, in addition to having the matte finish. And yes, some of those pieces can have some very prominent graining.
I did a quick search on carsdotcom, and found only a couple of cars which had the cognac with olive. So I doubt you're going to find many/any owners on here. I snagged a few more dealer pics of the combo, and have to say that I think the olive washes out when sandwiched by all cognac. It looks ok, but not something I'd order due to the fact that it doesn't stand out. I think it plays much better with the cognac/ceder two tone. Olive would probably look stellar on a black interior, too.
These pics are from three different cars. So you get some lighting variations.
I am looking at a GTS and it has carbon trim. I want wood. Any idea what it coshad the dealer replace the trim at time ts to install or could I do myself. I am pretty handy.
Price the kits at Suncoast.
I had the dealer replace the trim at time of delivery (went from black to Tineo). I think the door and dash pieces are easy, but the console is a bit trickier. I wasn't interested in damaging any surrounding trim if I ran into problems.
At the very least, you will need a decent set of trim tools.
Word of advice: make sure you are clear with the installer that the old trim is to be returned to you. In same condition as it was when it was on your car.
If you have CF trim, and were inclined to do so, you could probably resell for what you would sink into the wood trim.
