I own a 2013 Panamera 4. When I play CDs, the name of the CD and song title do not display. It just says CD 1, Track 1, etc. I can't believe a 2013 vehicle wouldn't have the capability to display the CD name and song title. Is there a way to program the PCM to do this?

 

I rarely play CDs. When you play music through USB, all the info including album art is displayed.

 

The 'text' is for Radio Text display which does not apply on CD text.

 

the redbook cd standard (defining how a CD's data is laid out and what data is included on a cd) did not originally include "cd text" and it appears that implementation of cd text on production cds has been spotty. When ripping a cd on a computer to add to iTunes, etc., the computer will query an online cd database to obtain artist, title and track info and add that metadata into the files ripped from the CD - this is how artist/track/title info shows up when playing back music from a usb stick/iphone/etc. So -- not displaying artist/title/track info when playing a traditional CD appears to be normal.
