Ok so I pulled up to a traffic light next to a new camaro with a really loud muffler... some air kit on the hood, huge tires etc. So the my son says "hey dad that guy is pointing at you" So I looked over and the guy is roaring the engine and bouncing his car. I nod and smile while slowly reaching down to press sports plus.
Light turns green....We hit the gas
I heard a lot of noise coming from..... behind me!
I didn't see the camaro again until about a .5 mile later at the next light. The Camaro pulls up next to me again and the driver is shaking his head looking down.
My son was cheering! So I'm a hero for an hour. Even better he says: " Dad I'm going to get a good job so I can get a Porsche! "

By the way, I lectured my son on the dangers of racing and that is not a reason to want nor own a Porsche.
I didn't want anyone to think I was a bad dad. I just couldn't resist the challenge.

He clearly had no idea what you were driving. PTTs are in the "silly fast" category. I gather there have been some production Camaros below 4 seconds 0-60, but most are more in the Panamera S range.
Also, if you're giving your son lectures on racing, you can always mention the difference between street drag racing and track events (or SCCA autocross events). Then he'd see how the car really shines. Not that I've done either one!

Are camaros anywhere near as quiet as the panamera? I seem to be in the minority of people who like to quietly accelerate aggressively, unless I feel like turning on the sport exhaust.

thank God for this result. I can sleep at night. I had a similar experience on back roads a couple years ago in my 991S, with a Camaro SS 1LE. And, similar result there. He was eaten alive.
