Panamera exhaust

http://www.insanegarage.com/cheap-fr...-sound-louder/

Will it work? Dealer saying sth about back pressure and doing so will not have sufficient back pressure. Also, will it cause trouble to the sport exhaust button?

Many thanks for helping!

I have tried disconnecting the vacuum tubes on my panny 4s and it was different. It was definitely louder on the 4s and also has clear downshifts sound (believe me, if you have a panny 4s with sport exhaust, you will be very disappointed with downshifts). Sounds like a good deal? Not at all, the car definitely feels slower and sloppier. Had a quick chat with Porsche hk about this and they said by pressing the button, the exhaust would be open most of the time, but under hard acceleration, the exhaust valve will be closed to build up the back pressure for the car to make it go forward. Of course, if you have a turbo then this won't happen, as the back pressure will be build up in the turbos. In conclusion, the disconnection of the tubes does work in making the car louder, but it definitely feels slower while doing so. Hope this helps.

Fabspeed Motorsport offers a great exhaust solution for which ever Panamera you have. Resonator bypass pipes and rear muffler would really wake up the car!! Which model do you currently have?

confused as to why you would want to disconnect your vacuum tube? You have a console button that will open and close the exhaust whenever you want to open or close it.

I have a Turbo and disconnected the tube today before driving into the office. It was definitely louder and I felt zero issues with performance etc. I have all the options on my car minus the sports exhaust so if this will not harm my engine/performance etc. I'll probably leave it disconnected.

yes 4s with pse....
With non turbo panameras with PSE, by disconnecting the tubes, it makes sure the system to fully open at all times. (valve will close under acceleration to build up back pressure to make sure the car goes like a rocket!) Trouble is when the tubes are disconnected, the valve will not be able to close by computer or manual buttons in car. It is louder but you will have to give up fast acceleration.
For turbo cars, disconnecting allows the exhaust (PSE or non PSE) to open all the time verus to open only when pressed sport/sport plus mode........ Of course for turbos it will not affect performance as back pressure is built up in the turbos
