Unfomfortable seat
Air bag control will be part of the harness and in my 997 that was part of what needed to be rewired. I have feeling that you will not have to do that in this car. Oh and to the fellow who seemed to think you don't need to be comfortable in your Porsche you should just like it because it is. I never made it past the 8th grade, was homeless, living on the streets (stabbed three times and beaten with a baseball bat for my shoes), I still bare the scars. Found out I had asperge'rs in my 50's (always thought I was just odd) so I cannot understand human emotion. Now I own companies and write novels to try and change the world as well as do whatever I can to help those in same position I was once in. But you know what I like my car seats (no matter what car it is) to be comfortable (I have RA as well). I try and give back to society not waste space in it. Have a nice day!
8-Way Suck
I too am interested in swapping my 8-way with 14-way. i have tried the 14-way in a friends car and feel its much better. seat comfort is same but seat better supports your body. plus u get higher seating position and lumbar helps a lot.
By the look of the seat side by side it seems like plug n play but dealer does't want to do it. seats cost twice the cost of usa due to higher taxes and dealer can't easily return the seats incase they don't fit so he's not willing to take any chances.
if any of you can get it done in USA. it will greatly help all of us.

I returned the Cayenne loaner back to the dealer yesterday. It had 14 ways. And then I hopped into our Panny 14 ways, and was miserable within minutes. It is impossible to describe how badly those seats suck.
Update on uncomfy seats
My own take is, after test-sitting a fair amount, though 14 way are not great, they are much better than the 8 way for the reasons sayadil said - there is much more adjustment capability. Not having ANY lumbar adjustment and no thigh extension is ridiculous in this day and age this expensive a car.
Unfortunately the consensus seems to be from the Porsche people I've talked to - factory and independent - that finding a 14 way would be VERY expensive - and no guarantee it would work. So rather than gamble Ive been talking to an upholsterer to add some lumbar and thigh support. I'll keep you posted.
And to respond to my cranky friend who thinks this is all too silly, what I think is crazy is a $90K+ car you can't drive without being in pain.

thanks, and for your inout on this, It will come to cost of a 14 way and if its worth the risk of not working.
Anybody have any thoughts where I might look for a salvaged one?

If you do decide to add support through an Upholsterer. please take pictures so we could get something done here as well.
