Ventilated seats: kinda wimpy?
Ventilated seats: kinda wimpy?
My '13 PGTS has ventilated front seats. They do work, and you can hear the fan come on when engaged, but you have to work hard to feel any airflow.
I had a 2015 Cayenne diesel as a loaner this week, and I was amazed at the difference. The strong setting was actually a little too strong for me. I could really feel the air getting sucked in around my back.
I was curious how strong the airflow is in in other people's Panameras.
Also, is there an air filter of some sort in the seats? Was curious if there is anything I could check for flow restrictions.

We have a Cayenne Diesel loaner this week too, and I agree that the max ventilation was probably more than was desired. There was a vacuum effect in the area where the cushion meets the seat back.
Our Panamera definitely has less ventilation, but I'm fine with that. As compared to my E63 seats which blow air, they are vastly superior in effectiveness.

One of the things my dealer told me about my ventilated seats was to be sure not to use a heavy leather cleaner on the seat! This will clog the small holes in the seat and reduce the effectiveness of the cooling! So I never let a detailer condition my leather! To clean my seats I use Chamberlins leather milk to clean and condition! It is a very thin product that soaks into the leather and won't clog the small holes in the seat cushions!
I have conditioned the seats once with Griots leather conditioner, but I was careful to apply sparingly to the pad first (the instructions specifically say how to deal with perforated leather). I'm pretty sure it didn't clog any of the perforations. I'm surprised that any cleaner could clog them, really, since they are about the diameter of a toothpick.
