Update transmission software
2010 PTT, occasionally would be a bit jerky with slow acceleration in Comfort mode 2-3rd and 3rd 4th. improved in sport mode.
recently had transmission software updated at dealer - Wow - much better, smoother gear shifting and a bit more responsive in Comfort mode - similar to the 2014 models...

Its funny you just posted this! I was about to do the same - I also had a recent PDK update (this past month) and the car is MUCH more responsive and smoother. Also the torque in Sport / Sport Plus during shifts can now be felt.
Someone had commented on "Slop" in their older PDK when responding to someone about what year to purchase. I can say I had a similar complaint that is now gone. If you have a 2010-2012 PTT see if you can get the PDK software update.

I posted about my my10 p4s and how bad it was. I sold because of it. All it cost me was a 14 P turbo. So no matter what it costs it would be cheap. By the the 14 does not have this issue. It just goes like he!!
I wish I would have caught you before the trade - although the 2014 has coastling and a few other electronic niceties (like Aha and Jukebox) and I hear the stock exhaust has a better sound - so you did get some other nice things!
I would expect if there is any cost it would be the hourly labor rate as it is just a software upgrade. Make sure to voice your acceloration and shift quality concern and mention you've heard there are transmission software updates. From what I was told the PIWIS doesn't inform of the update unless it is looked for.

Just got my car back from dealer this morning. I'd have to double-check to be sure, but I don't think I was charged for the update (however I did pay $1800+ for the major service so maybe they felt like they took enough of my money).
Shifting is noticeably improved. I used to have problems with downshifting to 2nd in Sport and when upshifting from 1st --> 2nd in Sport Plus. It was jerky enough to make me uncomfortable if I had a passenger. Also, I couldn't seem to be gentle enough on the gas pedal from a start or slow speed in sport and sport plus even though I concentrated on doing just that.
Now all is well. Car upshifts and downshifts smoothly at slow speeds

My '13 P-GTS had a "Campaign WE45" update that was initiated/notified by Porsche. You should be able to contact any Porsche service department with your VIN and they can look up if there are any updates that are applicable to your vehicle.
It makes a huge difference in Sports Plus mode.
You can't ask for a software update. My service adviser wrote it up as a complaint about the car jerking when downshifting. Then they will update your software as a "warranty fix".

Upon searching for my posts to update them, I came across this one (above). It describes fairly accurately a shifting problem that I had last year. It appears that in Aug of last year I was satisfied that the problem was fixed. Surprisingly, that problem returned in a manner that made me forget that I ever thought it was fixed. I just took the car in last week to address this exact issue and I had no recollection that I had ever previously thought the problem had been resolved. I must be losing my mind.
Anyway, on this most recent visit, the dealer changed the PDK fluid and re-flashed the transmission software. I know I said it before, but I think the problems have been minimized if not eliminated. The 3-2 downshift is only slightly noticeable now vs. jerky before. And the jerkiness when accelerating from a slow speed is much less than before. This observation is based only on my ride from the dealer to work. The car is still "re-learning" my driving so it may change its behavior a little over time.
Still scratching my head as to why I didn't remember that I had posted "problem has been fixed" last August.
