need TPMS

I am putting snow tires on a used 2012 P4 I just picked up. I have OEM wheels but no sensors. Do I need OEM TPMS sensors or are some of the aftermarket ones I see for sale on ebay ok? What frequency does the 2012 use?

I believe that Porsche TPMS system operates over the 433Mhz frequency. I bought aftermarket wheels but was suppose to get OEM TPMS modules installed with my tires, however my car does not recognize any of the tires. I've not contact the vendor to confirm what TPMS models they installed. If you are purchasing outside of a Porsche dealership (overpriced) I'd confirm the frequency of their modules and make sure that they measure up to the correct frequency.

The frequency did change, I think in 2014 and there is a relearn procedure that can be done (one was 315 the other 433 if I remember correctly) as well.

Careful.

I've bought aftermarket 433 for a 2013 Cayenne GTS and they worked great. Saved several hundred dollars.

I then bought aftermarket 433 for a Macan Turbo and they did not work. Dealer put on 433 OEMs are they worked. Said there is something "new" in 2015+ TPMS system.

Spent about $400 on the aftermarket ones for the Macan plus mounting and then about $650 in parts & labor for the OEM. A sad day.
