Help! PDK Transmission loosing oil

Hello, i just was at a friend who looked at my car and he saw that i loose oil at the transmission. Any idea, does there exist any sensor like if there is low oil it will show me? Or will the transmission brake when it remains without oil? Any advice? I have to wait 3 weeks for the porsche dealer till they have time for me...

Are you sure ? The transmission is sealed , there is no way it could be loosing oil. Oil must be coming from something else . I thinks you can change pdk oil and filter and there ypu can check if you really are missing oil

Well, the transmission is full of oil. The pdk oil was changed about 20.000km. I think I will put 1-2liters and then make a appointment at the dealer...

I had a small leak also recently. Turned out the pan was leaking and it was no big deal - the dealer changed the pan and refill with oil.

Unless you have a stream of oil coming out I wouldn't put any in ( you'd have to pump it in from the underside into the filler anyway ) -- and if you had a stream of oil I probably wouldn't drive it anyway. If you're very concerned you may want to find a different dealer or a good independent.

On this note, when should the oil be changed? (how often)

I am about to do a big service on the car, and wondering if the oil & filter should be done also?

Thanks

I know it should be done at 60,000mi service. I don't think it needs to be done earlier, but not 100% sure about that.
