My used 2014 PSeH didn't come with a paper manual and the online manual hasn't been helpful, so you guys might know: the button inside the charge port on the left of the car has a little clock symbol. I presume it allows one to put a time delay on the vehicle charging. Does anyone know more about its function?

Thanks in advance

Mine did not come with them either. However, I have figured them out. The button inside the charge port is a timer override. If you press the button, the car will ignore preset timer and will start charging right away.

That leads to the question on how and why do we set a timer. Up to three target times can be programmed via the instrument cluster. Also in your smart phone app, it's called Departure timer. You can program your Departure time from your phone if you have Car Connect (PCC), and these times will be uploaded to your car over the Internet. Then battery charging is performed so that the battery is fully charged at the defined departure time. One benefit is that less expensive night-time electrical power rates might be used.

I hope that answers your question.

The software on these cars nowadays is so sophisticated! Did you ever find a PDF copy of the car's manual?

Here is a link to something I think may be close, but I have no way to verify.
http://www.porscheownersmanuals.com/...or+fans+pg.278

However, I do notice that there are things missing. For example, the e-Hybrid we have has two coolant systems, one near the engine, and one near the drivers side hood hinge. The one near the engine is the battery system coolant, and the one near the hood hinge is for the engine. In the manual, they did not mention the one for the battery. The way I found out is by looking at this hybrid componenets page:

https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuse...r-ELECTRIC/GAS

Notice that the reservoir here (part #4) is not the same as the one for the engine shown as part #18 in this engine cooling diagram below:

https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuse...r-ELECTRIC/GAS

One more thing I am trying to figure out is how to remove all the inside trims of the tail gate without damaging them. Can anyone help me find out?

Yeah, I've been on that site but I too find it is incomplete especially with all hybrid /electric info.

Thanks

I don't know if the manual that comes with the car has more detail. Maybe someone can share with us.

There is a supplemental manual for the PseH. It has some model-specific info. I looked through it to find the motor oil specs, since it's different than the rest of the Panamera line.

In case you haven't found it yet, our e-Hybrid uses 5W-30 ESP. Be sure to get the ESP. Also, the capacity is about 6.5 liters from my experience, not the 6.8 liters as listed. You can pour in 6.3 just to be safe, and run it around and check again, and add a few dl at a time and run again, until it is green. Do not overfill. If it turns yellow, you have to drain some to get it back to green.

I'm aware of the specs:

Early adopter. Not guru.

Dealerships didn't know about the different oil when these Audi-sourced motors where first introduced.

Anybody under 9 miles after full charge on a 2015

Just wanted to reply to this thread as it was in reference to battery miles after full charge. I am currently at 7 miles full charge on a 2015 model with 65k. I do not have the original charger when I bought it over a year ago. Could it be possible that E charge does not charge as much as the house plug in? I havent needed one just yet as I have only put 5k miles on it since purchase. I also had in one ocassion, the vehicle started on engine power on cold start but only happened once. Has anyone experienced this in their hybrids? Thanks

I have found this to be normal. Considering the outside temperature my car will start with ICE sometimes and switch to E-power after a few miles. My guess is that it is to lubricate the engine internals so that when driving in cold temperatures the engine is adequately lubricated when it's pressed into use.
