Hi everyone,

Porsche just released the Panamera 4 E-hybrid with 2.9L twin turbo 330 HP and 135HP electric motor.

From here, we can guess the new base panamera will have 2.9L twin turbo 330HP.

Obviously, the S and the base panamera will have the same engin capacity 2.9L. There was rumour saying that the base will have single turbo and the S has twin, but now we know that they are both twin turbo. I wonder what Porsche does to make the difference in power between the 2 engines. Are they just simple detuned ECU and different exhaust system? or are they the complicated stuff like different turbos, ECU, radiator, exhuast, etc?

Anyone have any thoughts about the differences between the base and S engine?

 

My assumption is the S will have larger turbos.. Looking at the 911 base vs s models may provide some clues..
