Panamera Headlight Washer nozzle install

Hi guys,

I haven't been on here for sometime now and since then switched from cayenne to Panamera.

The other day I went to see my friend and he said "did someone steal your headlight washer?" I looked and one of the nozzles was gone. I have no clue where it went, lol.

I got a new one and was trying to install it today thinking that it was just some sort of click system, put it in but it still comes out easily. Anyone knows how to install that? Thanks much
It looks exactly like this

There may be a clip on the back side. I hate to do this, but I'd suggest taking off the bumper to see what it looks like on the other side. Then you can be sure you have the appropriate pieces to properly secure it.

probably is, i wonder if mine is broken since this thing wouldn't stay in there.

removing the bumper is way too much work,

I just ended up inserting it and just disabling the headlight washers, lol

Why not discuss this with your service personnel?

This is an option if you're not willing to try and tackle it yourself, although it doesn't seem to bother you enough.

I'm now experiencing this problem on my 2013 Turbo. While slowly approaching a stoplight yesterday, I hit the headlight washer button only to see my passenger side headlight washer nozzle get ejected into the air. I was able to retrieve the spent nozzle assembly from the side of the road and have determined that the nozzle assembly (as shown in your pic above) is fine. Using a coat hangar to manually raise the top end of the pump from the hole in the top of the bumper, I have determine that the little plastic tab that engages the ridges on the shaft of the nozzle assembly has broken off. The proper fix is to replace the headlight washer pump. For cars no longer under warranty, it would certainly be worth trying to somehow pin the nozzle assembly to the pump using a very small countersunk screw.

In looking more carefully at the headlight washer pump and the nozzle assembly, I notice they both have part numbers that start with 997. Looks like this system (at least on the 970.1 vehicles) was borrowed from the 911 at the time. It's been many decades since I've had to do a "curb walk" looking downward (in shame) for parts that had just come off my car!

The "walk of shame" comment made my day!

I used to do that on a regular basis when I had either of my British cars (MGB and Jaguar) or really old, rusty Fords.

Considering how over engineered much of the car is, the headlight washer was a surprisingly unsupported. The install is pretty straight forward, put the new one in through the bottom and push it flush and snug. Then attach the lower hose. It literally just hangs there. This is also why you are not the only one to have it "disappear". Once the nipple on it gets weak, it breaks easily.
