Glass roof STANDARD on all 2017 Panameras?

Hearing such good things about the new Panamera, I decided that it might be a candidate to replace my 2015 MB S550. I like the MB, but one thing I have always hated was the frigging Panorama glass roof, which is standard equipment. I feel it completely changes the look of the car, unless the car is black, which I don't want. Lo and behold, I now find that the full glass roof is standard across the board on the new Panamera. WTF??? Why would a company like Porsche, that is famous for allowing customers to order a new Porsche just the way they want it, now shove the frigging glass roof down our throats? Amazing and truly disappointing. You can order a new Tesla with a plain, metal roof, or with a traditional "moon roof," or with the full glass Panorama type roof. Suddenly Porsche has forgotten that their customers like choices, but on this item, they are now giving us NONE!
Oh well, maybe a new Audi A8.
P.S. An amazing thing: on several Panamera models in GERMANY, the glass roof is OPTIONAL! Why not here???

If you don't like the look, you could just put vinyl wrap over glass so it blends in with the rest of the car. Not a perfect solution I know, but if you love the car it may be less of a sacrifice then buying something completely different.

I thought about that on my MB. My car is what they call Palladium Silver and I was unable to find an exact match in a wrap. Also, I worried that in the summer heat, the wrap might get the glass too hot, causing it to break. I think the glass roofs are great for those who like them, but they should be OPTIONAL! Or, at the very least, you should be able to delete the glass roof on a special order.

If accurate, your complaint is rational. However I have been a fan of glass roofs since I bought my Saleen. It was an option however.

This is no longer true. The Model S can no longer be ordered with a metal roof. Standard is a full fixed glass roof and optional is a pano sunroof. The Model X has a fixed glass roof.

That's depressing news. So many premium car brands have lost their minds over the glass roofs. Geez! I'll have to buy a Genesis G90--or a Bentley!

In other countries you can choose glass or metal closed roof. I hate that there is no sunroof option, like in the past generation cars. This is something that stops me from "upgrading".
