(Newbie) Looking at first Porsche
Hi all,
I am new here and just wanted to get everyone's recommendations on the Panamera.
I am currently looking at a 2010 Porsche Panamera S. It has 40k miles. This will be my first Porsche and I'm pretty excited. I am coming from an E90 M3, so it will be completely different for me. If you could share your experiences and knowledge of the car such as problems or things to check, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

I would say the Panamera in general is pretty reliable. The main thing to check on a 2010 S, would be the camshaft bolts. There will be a recall on them soon, AHO8 is the official Porsche recall. Also, on a 2010, the suspension bushings may make noise sooner than later, I'd carefully look at those too.
Other than that, I would check everything you'd usually check on a used car.
Good luck, they're great cars and built right!

Same path i took, you'll love the panamera. Biggest difference for me is the smoothness, my E90 M3 was dropped a bit and was on 20"s so i could feel bumps on the road more pronounced - I am assuming you have modified your suspension as most M3 owners do. Even with 22"s the ride is so much smoother. Best route is to get a CPO'd car so you don't have to worry too much on failures but not sure how much longer you would have it given a 2010. Good luck and congrats!
Thank you for everyone's help! I am pretty excited for the switch. I did mod my suspension a bit, but all I had was H&R sports with EDC on stock 19s. The ride was definitely stiffer. Although I didn't daily it so I was never too annoyed with the ride. So far from what I heard, seems like the Panamera is a bit more reliable than the M3 is.
Had to replace the throttle valve actuator both banks at 60k miles and the guy who bought it from me replaced the rod bearings. That was on a well maintained hiway miles 2009 E90 M3. I was on 20" Volk TE 37 G2 wheels lowered on eibach prokit and was flush all around. Was a really fun car to drive but I really welcome the smooth soft ride now after a lifetime of low profile cars.
